Michell Turntable Clamp

Works a treat. Clamps record on turntable so no vibrations are lost through the vinyl. I hear clearer music and stereo separation. Some records that I didn't listen to because they sounded too mushy sound great(punk stuff),a very warped record that was unplayable is playable(still very warped but listenable with pleasure). I'm very happy with this purchase, I'm hearing things I didn't know were there and some records are like different records. I'm thoroughly enjoying listening to things afresh. Simple. Brilliant.

At first I didn't think it worked with my turn table, you have to remove your ordinary TurnT mat, place the mini felt disk in its place, lay the vinyl on it and press down with a fair bit of force, to make the rest of the vinyl flat on the glass platter. Only works with the thin ones as well, but you wouldn't need this on the thick heavier LPs.The product is five stars for me, does exactly what it's supposed to an is well made, won't break any time soon, very simple effective design. HOWEVER, it is pretty heavy so be dead careful not to drop it on your vinyl.4.5 as the instructions where not great, but I'll be nice- 5 STARS happy customer.

Very good quality manufacturing and very effective in clamping with noticeable improvement compared to previously used weight.

Got this for my Michell Gryro and I have to say it is without a doubt one of the best upgrades I've ever bought. It clamps the record down to the platter and ensures that your stylus tracks correctly. I literally had to turn the volume on my amp down 5 or 6% once fitted and it extremely rare that a hifi upgrade will make such a noticeable difference. It's also handy if you have any warped records as it does a really good job of flattening them down. The only surprise is that Michell don't supply it as standard with the SE.It should also be noted that it will also work with other turntables, with one small caveat; Michell platters are made of a similar material to LPs, so when you use the clamp, it has the effect of making the disk as thick as the platter which maximises the feedback through the stylus, this means that the sonic benefits may not be as big for other turntables. That said, anything which aids the tracking of you tonearm has to help.

Makes a difference to warped vinyl. Can be a little fiddly but otherwise easy to use...

The company was fantastic but this product did not clamp my records as the pin was too short. So had to send it back. No issues with refund

It is not easy to affix to the turntable spindle. It will most likely damage it. I would rate it a waste of money .

If you are buying this for a direct drive turntable, think twice. Any rumble-damping gain you get from your platter mat, will be lost with this clamp. It tightens around the spindle, so you will be transfering motor rumble directly to the record, and thus the stylus. Better to buy a metal weight, unless your record collection is mostly warped !
