Great for removing paint and buffing metal
I ordered these to use with a Dremel tool to buff old paint and/or corrosion off of parts in the engine bay of an antique car I'm restoring. They are just as good as the Dremel version, but cost about 30 cents a piece instead of $2 each. Plus they come in a wider range of grits. These were great at removing corrosion and buffing out stainless steel brake lines, manifolds, screw heads - pretty much anything metal. The grit range in this kit will take metal all the way up to a nice matte finish and a bit shinier depending on the material. They made quick work of cleaning/buffing in tight spaces in the engine bay. None of the other Dremel type attachments can do what these do on uneven and irregular surfaces and in nooks and crannies. They saved me countless hours of hand work, and also allowed me to clean without having to use harsh chemicals that might have damaged the metal or other components around the engine. You don't need to use any pressure with these, let the buff do the work. Keep in mine that these are consumable items - they wear down as you use them, and can wear pretty quickly on things like bolts with sharp edges or uneven surfaces. They last much longer when buffing flat areas. They work well all the way until they are worn nearly to the mandrel. At 30 cents a piece, and considering the time they save, they are a bargain in my opinion.

Works great!
I’m refinishing an old Victorian chair with amazing wood carvings. This tool works great to get into those fine and tight spaces to remove the old varnish. Love it!!

Surprised at the good quality - great product
I ordered these with very low expectations as I had seen so many complaints about the durability. I actually ordered two sets thinking that the wheels would fall apart quickly BUT they have been AWESOME!!! I polished my rings and jewelry with them to a near perfect finish. I have used them a lot and I'm still using the first ones I put on the mandrels, and I have two more sets in the first box before I even need to open the second box.My professor got the ones from Rio Grande and the set ran her about $100 and overall had mostly small 1/2" wheels in it. I'm going to keep getting this set if I ever end up going through both of my orders of them. You have to make sure you install them in the right direction, or they will break off but used correctly these should last me for years. I have used them on brass, copper, and silver jewelry.

Great for the price but...
I bought these for jewelry making. I usually purchase through Rio Grande or Beaducation but for the price I had to try these because I go through so many.Pros- Price- well worth the cost especially because you get so many ( of each). MUCH cheaper than anywhere else I've found- They do the job- Sturdy- I've used then several times and no signs of wear as of yetConsThe 3 coarsest ones are, in my opinion, too course for jewelry (silver or copper) or simply unnecessary even if you have a lot of scratches. I start with the 4th one, (when going coarsest to fine) using the last 3 finest ones. After that I need to use ones from another seller to get a high shine. I can't remember the grits but from the top sellers they are the pink, peach and green ones going down to 1 micron. However, even buying those separately in addition to these is still well worth the money. Even if you use them a lot, you will be good to go for quite some time.

As good as name brands
I'm writing this because the wheels work quite well. I read other reviews before purchasing and noticed people really likef them or really didn't.I couldnt help but think those who did not like the abrasive wheels, stating they fell apart, couldnt stack them or they couldnt see any abrasive on them, and the grits were not marked, were perhaps setting them up wrong. If you are a metal smith or jeweler you will want to stack three wheels on the same mandrel. The washers on the mandrels can be pitched. You dont need them.Concerning wheel breakage, the wheels go on in the direction Ive photoed for you. If they are on backwards they WILL fall apart as any other brand will.Concerning grits: Mine were sent with the different grits in individual zip bags and all but two bags were marked with the grit number. Ill figure those out by trial on some metal...no biggie. If you usually get these wheels from RioGrande, you will notice the fingers are a bit bigger. Ive noticed no difference in performanceThe only con is I prefer to use 3/4" wheels and these are 1". Over the course of use they will wear down to 3/4 so considering the fair price its definatly not a deal breaker.Dont be afraid to buy them
