This is a great art activity! The provided lion, butterfly and fish picture discs are super cute and beautifully colored. The pom poms can be easily and snugly wedged (by both color and size) in the holes in the picture, but it is not permanent placement so your kiddo can do this activity as many times as they want to! There is also some room for creativity- they don't have match the poms by color to the assigned spots on the picture, they can really color it however they want, allowing them to march to the beat of their own drum so to speak. For some reason I thought that these were made of wood (admittedly I did not read the description), they are made of a thick foam like material which is fine too. The included straps are also a nice touch for hanging the picture up once completed.The second part to this activity are the number/counting cards, which are a really nice and clever addition (pun intended). There are 10 number cards- on one side of the card is a number with the corresponding amount holes to put the poms in (also color matched) as you count them out. The back side of the card has a cute animal picture in the quantity of whatever the number is. The cards are pretty thick and sturdy, although they could be just a little thicker to provide more depth in the holes you place the poms in. They don't really wedge in like they do on the pictures, they basically just sit on top of the holes. Still, this is an awesome activity that combines both art and creativity with learning (counting, size/color matching and sensory/tactile sensory stimulation from the poms). Super happy I found this!

This is super super cute, and very inspiring for both kids and adults. I love how straightforward the activity is: no directions needed. You just see it and know what to do. My 5 year old was SO excited when she saw this. I told her she could do it with her 5 year old buddy during her big brother's basketball game, and then let her friend take home one of the (reusable) animal boards; she was okay with all of that EXCEPT the friend keeping an animal board lol. She liked them too much to right away think of giving one away. The boards come in three styles: lion, fish and butterfly, and each one comes with a string to hang it up for display after the pom poms are put in. The pom poms come in 3 sizes, so the child intuitively learns to fit the right shape in the holes as they decide which color will look best. This is easy art that will satisfy most kids.

As others have mentioned, it does take a bit of strength for the kids to push the pom poms through the holes and the instructions are lacking. That being said, it's an activity that can keep their attention for a bit, but over time I could see this getting a bit too simple for too many repeats, that and the fact that the pom poms will likely end up lost around the house...make sure to keep an eye out if you have pets as I could see them trying to eat stray pom poms!

It entertained my kids once or twice. Why did some of the pom poms fit the holes well and others not so well? I needed clarification about which sizes went with which holes. I also don't remember ever getting the little cards where you could match the pom poms with different numbers. They must have missed my box because we didn't have that. That would have been a nice learning tool for my youngest, who is learning to count.

This is a really nice kit. You get three large foam like circles with different pictures that you can "color" with different colored pompoms. It is a good lesson in matching colors and learning sizes. Once placed on you just dump it off and start over again, so these are reusable as many times as you want. The number cards are really cool. They have the numerical representation of the number on the left and then you count out that many pompoms and match the colors on the right. On the back are more vibrant images representing the numbers. The kit comes with so many pom poms in all different colors and sizes, so if you lose a few it won't be that big of a problem. The kit also comes with some string to hang up the big circles and some googly eyes to add a bit of kooky fun to the critters. The only thing the kit didn't have that might have been useful are some plastic tweezers or something to help grab the smaller pompoms and help place them on the boards. Despite that I really like this and am rating it 5 stars and I look forward to using it with my little!

My 2.5 year old loves poms poms and this kit provides a fun learning experience! It teaches fine motor skills, color sorting, counting and more. Packaging is nice and overall I think this kit would make a wonderful gift for any toddler or young child.
