Works nicely in place of a halogen bulb in my spotlight.
The halogen bulb in my 20 something year old hand held spotlight finally burnt out and I decided to get the LED version of the bulb to replace it. My old light was still in great shape so I just decided to take it apart and replace the bulb. I was really surprised by the LED bulb. It uses less power and is noticably brighter. Some people warned me that there would be dark areas in the light they put out, but that didn't appear to happen with my light. In my light, the halogen bulb actually had more of a shadow in one area than these LED bulbs do. Part of that may be because they are brighter. The spot beam is very focused and I am glad I made the change. I fully recommend these bulbs as a replacement for halogen bulbs. I can't say if they are legal for DOT on road use or not, but that's not what I am using them for.

Nope, nope, nope.
I do use both fog lamps and headlamps that accept H3 bulbs only. You can only install these one way so they lock properly in place, which has me curious if they are clocked offset to their base. The illumination spread is completely away from the road no matter what lamps I put them in. Other H3's point forward just fine. Picture was taken at night, but brightness I would say is comparable to a standard halogen. Not much upgrade there IF they were usable other than the illumination color.

Not a Drop in replacement
So these are nice and bright for the compact size they are. I went to replace these on my fog lights and the retainer clip does not clip back into these lights without some modification. Once that is figured out it was a nice upgrade to the light.

These go well with my LED conversion in my headlights
I just recently did an LED conversion on my car, and the halogen fog lights didn't fit. These matched the color warmth of them perfectly. And, are quite noticeably brighter especially when you factor in they are projector type! even though these don't have the glass capsule, they still need to be handled with care just as with the halogen bulbs. And, it was just a bit tight being there isn't a lot of room in the projector type fog lights. They are fine though, and have enough clearance to be safe.
