Lady Emma s Campaign (Regency Romance) Paperback – 3 Nov. 2014

I really enjoyed Jennifer Moore's first book in this series, Becoming Lady Lockwood - and so it was a natural decision to purchase Lady Emma's Campaign as well. I was not disappointed! I was a bit skeptical at first because I don't usually choose to read many books with so much about war. But in this particular book, it was well received. Emma was so unexperienced in everyday life, and basically became a new person in her march across the Spanish countryside - dodging war and death. She went from being frail and worrying about how some horrid boots looked with her gown, to being brave, and caring for and comforting each person in her little group. She became quite the woman. I enjoyed this book very much and would recommend it to anyone - AND it's a clean romance!! :-)

Another great, clean read. The story was very exciting and the characters were well developed. It will be interesting to see which characters will come forth next. Thanks for a delightful read.

After throughly enjoying "Becoming Lady Lockwood", a book I just stumbled across, I decided to try another by the same author. I was delighted it included some of the same characters yet is a completely different story. I found the personalities of each character intriguing and although I feel they are a bit shallow in just a few places, the story is excellent! I had a difficult time putting it down. Great book!

I recently read Jennifer Moore's debut novel (Becoming Lady Lockwood) and was surprised when I found this companion novel only a few weeks later! While I loved the first book, this one has several unique elements that made it a more engaging read.The novel mostly takes place in Spain during the Napoleonic Wars. I loved this setting because I have read a lot of Regency fiction and it mostly focuses on England, France, and maybe the Caribbean. Moore's descriptions of Spain are breathtaking, both the beauty and the destruction.The characters of this book are more developed than Moore's first novel. I really liked the internal struggles of the hero. He has been through a lot in the novel and has to come to terms with it. At first, the heroine bothered me because of her naïveté and short-sightedness. However she proves herself in the end. I liked accompanying them on their journey to see how they grew.If you are super sensitive to violence, some scenes may be hard to read. However I believe their inclusion show the catalyst for much of the heroine's growth.I loved this book because it shows a different side of Regency life, one away from the light and frivolity of the London season. Moore has another book out in February 2015 and I can't wait to read that one!

It was hard for me to get through this one, real to life war scenes that make you stop and think. When I choose to read fiction, I am usually in need of an escape/rest from the stress of life. This was not light, but rather intense. If you enjoy a thriller with romance and reading about the abuse the main character had experienced, then this might be the one for you. I feel It was priced too high as I wouldn't read this ever again.I do appreciate the character growth you see as you go along though, Nevertheless it was probably bad timing for me to read it.
