Simple and Reliable
For those who are unaware, dial torque wrenches are the most accurate type of torque wrench available today. They are simple, and have few moving parts, so they rarely go out of calibration. This wrench with it's 0-50ft/lbs (also has a Nm scale) range makes it ideal for engine work and other torque sensitive tasks.CDI offers the best price for an accurate torque wrench. No other tool supplier comes close.

One word - Artwork
This is a piece of functional art. In a world of imported, "soon to be in a land fill" products, this is one that I will die with and I know it will still be functioning properly! Wow, I am so impressed! This is a through back to days when manufacturers took pride in their products! It is a beautify thing to just look at. I almost wish the case was transparent so that I could keep in on my desk and admire it!!! The chrome is polished to a mirror finish on the faces of the wrench and on the bezel of the gauge. It has both inch-lbs and Nm. It works in both clockwise and counter clockwise directions. It has a large easy to read dial that has two needles, one reads torque the other is a "follower" so that you can read the max torque reached once the force is released. The wrench uses a torsional system rather than a standard spring system. These are much more reliable and tend to not come out of calibration as easily. Also, there is no need to remember to "zero" the settings as it naturally goes to zero when the force is released. One final thought: the wrench comes pre-calibrated, this doesn't seem like a big deal but a couple of the name brand wrenches I was considering actually say in the instructions that the wrench may need to be calibrated! And those wrenches were nearing the $100 range and were imported. It really is a no brainer. CDI makes a bunch of different sizes and dials. I purchased this one to check and maintain my expensive mt. bike. These days bicycles use all kinds of exotic materials and torque specs are very light and very important. Too tight and you damage the material, too lose and well....Just pick the one that best fits your needs and be happy with a tool that will most likely last the rest of your life!

Excellent Tool
Received it well packaged with the calibration slip. Great fit and finish. Well worth the investment. Should have bought it years ago.

This is an absolutely beautiful tool in both appearance and function
First, I had no idea that CDI is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Snap-On Tools. But that explains why this tool is so, so delightful. The case it comes in is perfect -- holding it snugly without being cumbersome. Included is a detailed calibration document and user manual, as well as a little desiccant pack. The gauge face is a brilliant, easy-to-read blue. The "active" vs" memory" needles are easy to distinguish.Just be aware that during use, it's *very* sensitive. Snapping a socket over the ball detent is enough to cause the needle to spike dramatically (which will shove the memory needle, too, necessitating a manual reset back to zero). So, you need to be very delicate when you're taking a measurement, but the tool itself does not seem fragile, just extremely sensitive.
