This is unbelievable. Truly.
Less than one star is what uou deserve. For switching out parts, and having deceptive and misleading YouTube videos (they completely ignore the wiring details in the videos, essentially have you dropping bare wiring into the wall, but never showing what, where, how, etc. tho, their video ‘happily ends’ with you, the user, all hooked up and ready to goI’m looking for an explanation to this eight hole backstab receptacle. I have no idea how to wire that up with my two hot and two cold, when it’s ready for 4 hot and 4 cold?I’m freaking out here. 85” tv lying on the floor. No power, two holes cut in my wall and bare wires hanging out, and NOTHING BUT NOTHING is telling me how to hook this up. Search after search comes up useless. Even image searches have no returns. The LEAST these guys could do is actually HAVE PROPER INSTRUCTIONS for my kit. But no? I’ve got the ones detailing how to hook my wires into brass or silver side screws—WELL YOU DIDNT SEND ME THAT DAMN MODEL. I HAVE NO SCREWS ANYWHERE ON MY UNIT!You are the laziest, rudest , hoping-get-rich-quick bunch of A holes that I think I’ve ever run into. I have ELECTRICAL WIRES HANGING OUT OF MY WALLS RIGHT NOW. There is no two day amazon shipping that could even begin to rescue me in the freezing December chill. I have to figure out what the heck I need and go out and find it, or hire an electrician. You put my family at risk and cost me WAY MORE than I had ever intended to spend, had I just sucked it up, and bought that $100 in wall kit at Best Buy.Thanks for nothing. (Geez I hope the company actually checks these messages over once in awhile— probably not tho, or they’d have done something already, about their mismatched kit parts to instructions given. I mean seriously, that would drive me INSANE, if it were my company. Gigantic losers, in it for the quick buck, and took mine..... don’t let them get yours too- just PASS on this crap)

Not as pictured - required material removal to install bottom unit.
Not as pictured. Like other reviewers the units I received have different openings for the low-voltage cables. The included instructions are also for a different product. I spent some time making sure there would be adequate clearance from studs prior to choosing hole location. But when the unit was assembled and all cables threaded through both upper and lower units, I discovered that the lower unit would not fit into the hole cutout. Since the wall was finished and painted I had no intention of altering sheetrock, so I took a hacksaw and removed nearly an inch of the low voltage housing. Hardly a clean install! I also agree with other reviewers that the included outlet is very cheap and does not include screw terminals for positive connections. Which leaves very little for a high price. Look elsewhere.

very well put together, does everything i needed
This is a great kit and fit my needs perfectly. It is relatively shallow and install easily behind a 2x4 framed wall. The boxes are sturdy plastic and have a nice finished look when installed. There is ample room for multiple cables, i have 6 running through mine and there is room for more. I like the two outlet connector, though i must confess, i did use one with with screw in terminals rather than the one supplied. FYI, yes you need to get your own Romex wire, but that's supper simple from Lowes or HD. Overall though its well made and installed easily and after looking at many similar kits, im glad i went with this one.

You have to bevel the side for the bottom outlet to fit
If you buy this, do yourself a favor and read the 3 star review by M. Knutsonon February 23, 2016 before you install.2 highlights:- As everyone says the outlet receptacle is a pos, buy your own to use- The top outlet fits perfectly using the template. However, the bottom outlet does NOT, you will be like wtf it doesn't fit unless you shave the left side at 45 degree angle, then it will barely fit.One last note in case you are curious the top and bottom are NOT the same width. The top is about 6" the bottom is about 4".

Buy the older model. This is not complete kit.
I must say, the old version was better. One, it was smaller and easier to install. Two, it came with everything. This current kit does not come with the wiring to connect the two outlets together. The older version came with everything needed. I will not be buying this anymore. Considering I bought about 6 of the other ones.

Two's Company Three's a Crowd
Nice to have two receptacles up top (TV & Firestick) but the spacing is tight. The power cables you attach need to be small because the space to the top of the housing is limited. Also, as I was doing the original install I couldn't imagine there would be enough room to pull any more cables thru; beyond the current HDMI, CAT6, a feeder string. The lower box is even more crowded: the provided extension cord female end is massive and "hogs" into the video pass area.

Wrong outlet in the kit
I've installed seven of these over the past few years. This is a great product, if you can ignore the small openings for the A/V cables. This last version I received has an outlet with a screw-in ground and two push-in terminals for the neutral and hot wires. The opening for these push-in terminals is too small for the romex that I've used for the last six of these I've installed. I had to run out and buy an outlet to finish the install. Datacomm's quality control needs some work. I'm starting to get the impression that they now just throw anything into these kits without paying much attention to detail.

Great size and easy to install
This was very easy to install and I much prefer a kit like this where I can put regular romex into the wall. I didn't like the receptacle this kit came with, the receptacle has no side terminals and has to be back wired. I used a regular decora receptacle instead.

Favorite thus far
This kit worked awesome.Pros:- Comes with very well made instructions and a very nice template tool. I cut the template out (roughly) and then used a pin to mark the corners, took the paper off the wall then drew a line from hole to hole. Next I cut along the pencil mark and it made a perfectly sized hole. This trick allowed me to also level it.- Hides the cables in a professional looking wall box.- Does not come with an in-wall power cable - This forces people to get the right cable for in the wall. This is important for safety and electrical code requirements. Other kits include a pre-terminated non-approved cable, and this one is far far far more professional and allows me to cut my own length of cable (romex 14-2 in my area).Cons:- Outlet uses the new "push" connectors. Not a con, just a personal preference.- Had to cut drywall away a little more (on an angle) to get the box in the wall once the power connection was installed.

Average
I can honestly say I read a lot of reviews prior to purchasing this item.Read **** fine print ** this item does does come with a (romex cable.. black/white/ground) simple fix by going to your local hardware store to buy, approx $3-$5 for 6ft)The template provided in the box is a joke, I carefully cut out the template and tried to install both the top and bottom plate and it didn’t fit, had to do some additional cuts to the drywall.Overal it took me approx 2/3 hrs to installHappy with the look of the hidden cables.Good luck, from Toronto m, Canada

Horrible fit.
So....the top installation was difficult...the cutting template is a bit too small for the top receptacle..but a little filing helped...The bottom is a nightmare..it simply will not fit...if you see the pictures I've attached...I'm not sure how it could ever...maybe I have thick drywall..but as you can see...there is no way this will fit...not sure what to do now...I'm thinking of buying standard double outlet sized recepticles to fill this mess up. Do they even try these things out?

Works. Looks great
Item worked as intended. Easy to install. Back of plugs are covered so would meet code. You just need to supply your own 14/2 wiring 12/2 if it’s all you have. Bottom portion was a tight fit but was able to get it in by rounding outer edge of drywall.

Great Product. Installed in 20 minutes
It’s a great product! It’s very easy to install. It would have been great if it came with the Electrical Building Wire to connect the 2 Out lets which I had to buy separately. Also, make sure to have a dry wall saw and wire detector handy to make installation faster.
