My favorite shorts for gym and basketball
Best everyday use shorts on Amazon! I go to the gym with them, take short hikes with them or even just to chill at home. Excellent quality and very comfortable. I’m 6’7” tall at 245lbs and the US XXL fit me perfectly. The fabric is stretchy and breathable. Smooth to the touch, yet very durable. Can fit my iPhone 13 Pro Max, AirPods and car keys in a single pocket. The black ones are my favorite, but the grey has since grown on me.

Some Great, Some Suck!!!
I have bought 8 pairs of these shorts. Some of them I absolutely LOVE. The rest of them truly SUCK!!!! They come in packs of 2. I don't know HOW to rate these? The good ones I'd give 5 stars but the "bad" ones, I'd only give 1 or 2 stars!!The GOOD ones fit well, have nice elastic and the tie strings are just for "back up" to the elastic holding the shorts up. The Elastic is good enough that I can pull the shorts up and down without having to untie them. They have 2 pockets. The pockets are nice and deep, but for some reason, when I sit down and lean back, relaxed, Stuff DOES FALL OUT of the pockets! I'm not sure how/why. I keep my cell phone in one pocket and it falls out. I keep "stuff" (Pocket knife, flashlight, etc.) in the other pocket and it also falls out. But ONLY while I'm sitting, leaned back, relaxed. Everything stays in my pockets, perfectly well, while I'm out and about, doing chores, walking, bending over, doing normal, every day things. The strings have held up well on all the shorts. The shorts with good elastic, the strings are great. I LOVE them and I think they are WELL WORTH THE MONEY!That's the good. Here's the bad:SOME (approximately HALF THE SHORTS I'VE BOUGHT) don't seem to have much, if ANY, ELASTIC in them. I HAVE to cinch those strings up TIGHT to keep the shorts on. And that HURTS my stomach!! I HATE those shorts. They are MISERABLE to have to wear and were a WASTE OF MY MONEY!! I have to UNTIE and RETIE the strings EVERY TIME I want to pull the shorts down.Would I buy these again?? "Probably" in HOPES that I could get some more GOOD pairs, but I tell you, at the rate of HALF of them being "no good", that makes the good ones be PRETTY EXPENSIVE!I'm not sure if I could/would "recommend" these shorts or not. If you get some GOOD ones, they are well worth the money. But if you get the ones with LITTLE to NO ELASTIC in them, they aren't worth ANYTHING. Just a waste of money.I guess, in the end, all I can say is:BUY AT YOUR OWN RISK.

High Quality and Just The Right Weight - Love These Amazon Essentials Shorts
I have 10 pairs of these shorts and love them. They look great, fit great, are well constructed, are durable and perfect for everything from working out with weights, mountain biking, running, Crossfit, working in the yard and around the house or just lounging around.Sometimes "performance' tech type shorts are very light and not heavy enough to hang properly. That can lead to rise and static cling but that's not the case with these shorts. These shorts are light enough to be cool, comfortable and quick drying but heavy enough to hang properly and not develop a lot of static cling.I'll be buying more in a variety of colors.

Good price and fit nice
I wear athletic shorts around the house regularly, and I like these. For the price and fit, they’re pretty good. Seem well made. Pockets are food size and my phone and keys don’t fall out. Will probably order some more since they’re pretty cheap.

I may be bigger, but my shorts didn't need to be smaller.
I bought a 2-pack of these shorts a coupe of years ago, and they quickly became my favorites. I wear plain, black mesh running shorts year-round, and they are my de facto wardrobe in summer because of the comfort. I liked them so well, I determined that i was going to buy more. I tried to order them, but they were out of stock, and I bought a different brand of shorts - which were too long, took skinny through the legs and the pockets stuck out like I had ears on my waist. Back they went, and I saw that these were available again. "Hooray!" I said to myself, and snapped them up with alacrity. I didn't try them on because the original two pair I had (which are still in good shape and I wear almost daily) were clean. So today, I put a pair on - "I don't need to try them on," I said, "they're exactly the same as the last pack I bought." I knew the waist size was fine, so that's all I needed, right? Wrong. The pockets on these stuck out as well - not as far as the pair I just sent back, but still noticeable. Of course, the logical conclusion - and the one my wife would immediately point out - is that not only am I inching closer to 45, but perhaps my waist is inching that way, too. However, if they are the same size as my original pair, which they are, why don't the pockets on those stick out, while the pockets on these do?They are still comfortable, they don't feel off, and to be fair, I'm going to most likely wear them around the house or to work out (shut up, yes I will go). I'm going to keep them and endure my wife's polite assertion that I go up a size, saying "I'm not the same size I was, either" (yes, she is). So I'm going to keep these. But they look the same when placed on top of my old pair. The only noticeable difference was the weight. The new ones seem lighter and more flimsy than my original Amazon's Choice shorts. It's possible that these have a manufacturing error or something, so I would likely buy more anyway because they're reasonably priced and I'm not paying $50 for shorts because of the logo on them. But if you're like me and your thighs are big, beware of pockets pooching, or keep your wallet and your phone in each pocket at all times.
