A 3 year journey of learning along side a severe illness with limited commitment followed by 1 year commitment to this plan and motivation to maintain. It works! I love seeing all the fruit and vegetables in my kitchen.I find the book to be incredibly educational and user friendly. As long as I follow the proper food combinations, I feel amazingly better than before. Add in proper timing and my body reset completely. Friends who allow me to prepare our dinner of a "sweet meal" now request I prepare a smoothie when we meet to spend time together.There are 2 concepts to adopt, food combinations and timing. There are 2 types of meals to figure out, "cooked" and"sweet" meals. Everything you eat, without the obvious bad things no diet would permit, can be enjoyed with a few modifications. Totally workable plan for all styles of cuisine if you take the time to decifer. For example, I love beans and rice. 2 carbs are a no unless they come from the same derivative. So I have beans and roasted cauliflower rice. If I want pasta and garlic bread, no problem. Just Mahe sure both are wheat. Want corn chips, no problem, have corn tortilla with meal and skip beans and rice. There are several videos of the Gracie family making simple Smoothies and meals. A juicer is a must! I make fruit juice from everything but watermelon in it as well as carrot and cucumber juice, which is all I can enjoy currently. I have read and reread and look forward to continuing to reread this book until I have acquired a comfortable level of mastery. Rorion has majority of the book telling you what you are doing and why. He then focuses briefly on how you do it and leaves that work up to you to figure out. There is a gradual implementation plan. Then he even addresses how to handle issues like traveling, family meals, meals out. You decide the degree of comfort you can live with. If you can't do it all, what you do will be beneficial and I find it slowly helps you want to remove toxins as the health benefits are astounding. Mental and physical benefits came within 4 days and 3 weeks in my body completely reset from a place of major chaos and illness. It has taken me 2 rounds to implement but I had to remove a toxin, alcohol/ any sugar that isn't from fruit, to keep my body in tune. With health issues, it was something I wanted out of my life any way. With diabetes in my family, I wanted to focus on a diet that has been proven to cure diabetes! No doctor will agree with the combinations for a diabetic and no doctor suggested I focus on my diet to assist my issues! My doctor did tell me he only took 1 course on nutrition so that was all I needed to hear to know that ball was in my court.Within a month of 90% accurate application weekly, I could feel my body communicate with my mind. I'm all in now finally figuring out their optimal day is my optimal day, but it took a year to get there, as I was stubborn on keeping a few days stuck in old habits with comfort food and eating out enjoying in the moment what was familiar. Now, with total dedication, my body tells me when it is time to eat and what it wants! Cravings, random eating, energy crashes, headaches, upset stomach and sleep issues have all subsided.I'm grateful for a solid foundation with a concise routine for eating and my body has reset from a place of severe illness. Medication can only do so much but with the diet I have came off of 2 pills. We are all burned out by diets and formulas that focus on weight loss but this one focuses on allowing ease of digestion so you have energy and vitality where weight loss will be a natural byproduct. We all work hard at many things. Work hard at this and the rest will take far less work in time.

A good foundation for healthy eating
Even though I have changed my diet in the past years, and I have replaced drinking sodas for natural fruit juices, it was still difficult for me to keep the weight off, or even lose more weight. I got this book as a way to make adjustments to my current diet, and the Gracie Diet has been working like a charm!!! The diet quickly made me realize that it was not a good idea to combine certain foods for drinking and eating, and why some foods are better when eaten alone. It helped me restructure the way how I eat, when I should eat, and what I should do in order to respect my eating hours. My digestion has improved, and I am starting to feel leaner. Exercise also helps for the diet to work effectively. The book will provide you with a good foundation for healthy eating.

Sensible lessons but maybe too strict
Love the lessons and reasonings given. Enjoyed the tactical advice on how to start new habits. Overall a well intentioned and easy to read book. The strictness and lack of science to share may be a critique but there are still a good handful of uber practical tips to aid your eating, nutrition and overall wellbeing.

Gracie Diet
I loved the book!! Yes, I believe it was a bit expensive considering how long the book was, but the information really makes up for it. It is an easy book to read. I read it in about a day. As for the diet, it's amazing!! I've been on it for about 2 weeks and I've lost 6 pounds! It is a simple diet to follow, and you don't really need a juicer. There are some recipes in the book that say you need a juicer, but you really don't. Just eat the combination of fruits together. I haven't noticed a boost in my energy, but I haven't been sleeping well either. I love the diet, and I love how well it's explained. This is something I can go by for the rest of my life!

It really works and is easy to stick with
The Gracie diet really works and is easy to follow after once implemented. I noticed many little health improvements after switching to the Gracie diet as well as energy boost and less sleep demand. The food is also really tasty. I liked the whole book. Missed some more extended combination tables, e.g. how to categorize tofu.

Enlightening
The book not only provides you a diet plan but introduces you to a way of life that can lead you to health and longevity and an ultimately fulfilling life. I am eager to start off with this diet and trying to incorporate it's principles slowly into my life.

Lo que hace a este libro muy bueno:
El libro esta muy sencillo de entender. Prácticamente el libro te enseña como evitar que los alimentos se hagan ácidos en el estomago por mala combinación y si entiendes que si y que no comer, pues tu salud general mejorará notablemente.
