Better quality & size than I expected.

While this was a great concept, the design is just flawed. The two pieces (the hook and the cuff) do not stay together whatsoever. Even with a hand-held inside, the black part falls too far down on the hook and it looks really wonky. Great for about 5 minutes of play, and that's about it. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend.

This is a fairly basic plastic hook "hand hook" to go with your pirate costume. It is made from two pieces, one - a plastic domed cup shape to cover the imagined stump - your actual hand, and a plastic hook that slips into the dome with a stem of a handle to grasp with your hand inside the cup. The two piece can be separated fairly easy, but stay together well enough. It is definitely meant for children (as indicated) and is sized well considering that fact (as you can see from my large adult hand trying to hold it in the photo). I think it is a cute & safe prop to go with a child's pirate costume. I think some faux painting or embellishments on the prop would have been a welcome addition to give it a more realistic look, but instead, this is just plain black and gray.

The hook pops off easy, but that's my only complaint. It certainly didn't bother my son and made his Foxy costume perfect!

It is I Capetian Kid Hook! That's what my kid shouted all around during Halloween! This went into his costume box for use throughout the year! He's Capetian Kid Hook!

This hook was an accessory at a recent pirate party, and it was a hit.It's pretty sturdy plastic, and since you just hold it, you can put it down and it doesn't inhibit the use of your hand for the night.
