It does what it build for. Recently has a overcharge due to Lighting Storm, and equipment out of surge protector broke off. Cable box that was connected to the same outlet, but without serge protection burns out and TV was protected 100%.

The Cnaodun Refrigerator surge protector single outlet protector is a great device when you're trying to protect power glitch sensitive devices like refrigerators or other 120V compressor devices. Its main protection is to eliminate the power up/down glitches that cause compressor driven appliances to draw many times the current rating when this common problem occurs. The main functions included: a 3 minute delay with first plugged in or when you have a momentary power glitch, low voltage, and high voltage detection. When any of those conditions occur, the 120V output is turned off and turned back on after a 3 minute delay. All of these functions worked flawlessly and meet the 140 VAC High, 90 VAC low, and the timed delay was close to 3 minutes for each condition.This product is well manufactured, and when placed in the bottom standard 120 VAC socket there is enough room to plug a standard 120V plug into the top socket. ( see enclosed pictures ).Although this product does a great job of over, under and voltage glitches, it only has 140 Joule surge protection rating and that is quite small compared to most of the surge protection capabilities on competing products. If the joule rating was 1000 or more, this would be a first class 5 star review.

Easy to install, not too big, and the price is decent. I was thinking it had more plugs on it, but must've looked at the wrong item.

My brother recently suffered a power surge due to a nearby lightning strike. Significant damage to TV's and computers. It got me to evaluate my surge protection. I have several surge protectors already installed. It occurred to me two of my most expensive appliances are my refrigerator and freezer. After I got the product, I found this note from GE my make of refrigerator and freezer."REFRIGERATOR - SURGE PROTECTORSWe do not recommend connecting a refrigerator or freezer to a surge protector. The reason we do not recommend this is explained below:The compressor is sensitive to temperature and current overloads and will shut itself down with a power surge. It will also restart itself.A surge protector will override this system. If there is a power surge, your refrigerator may not restart when connected to the surge protector. This could cause food spoilage."After reading this I decided to use the surge protector for the one TV that did not have protection. The protector itself has several indicators to alert you if a surge signal is detected. It is plug and play so very easy to install. My only caveat is that you should check with the manufacturer of the appliance you intend to protect before purchasing.

With all the ACs and numerous appliances running at the same time, I have noticed my lights do blink sometimes. I live in an older building with several apartments and this summer most people’s AC been on full blast. I know this is meant for the fridge but I get my plug in properly. My cord is flat and side ways making it impossible to securely plug in. Also, the surge protector is a bit bulky and sticks out so I could push my fridge all the way back. I was left with a weird gap. The surge protector I use for my window unit AC instead. It does give me some peace of mind that it will protect my unit from any surges and I will keep looking for one for my fridge.

The timer function works, nice touch to make sure your power is stable. Allows you to still use the upper outlet for another plug.If your power is as wonky as mine, not a bad thing to have.

Working very well and delays the restart after power interruption which protects the motor. Easy to install and indicator lights for the status. Instructions and packaging are kind of inconsistant with English vs spanish
