LAUNCH X431 Pro Elite Diagnostic Tool, Bi-Directional OBD2 Code Reader, ECU Online Coding, Full System, 38+ Resets Services, CANFD&DOIP, FCA, with 2 Years Update, 2025 Model

I recently purchased the Launch X431 Elite Pro on Amazon to fix a neighbour's 2008 VW Golf 1.6 FSI, which a local garage had replaced the EGR valve on, had not done the job properly, and refused to redo the work when the EGR valve failed same-day.I was worried that spending £579 on this device was going to be a huge dissapointment and waste of my time and money, but as it turned out, the very opposite was what I experienced.I MUST, mention one really worrying and dishonest event related to this device, but as I hope others will appreciate, this has nothing to do with the Maker/Manufacturer (LAUNCH - China), and everything to do with criminal activity of some UK and EU resellers, who do NOT advertise on Amazon, but have their UK contact details listed with the Chinese advert for Launch Online.When I bought this device from Amazon, I was keen for some extra information, so contacted the UK listed address on the Amazon advert, only to be told by Daniel Huggins of Launchtech.co.uk (UK reseller) that they would not help as this was a fake Chinese rip-off, and that they do NOT sell on Amazon. Dan further went on to describe himself as a "(I'm just the low level monkey that deals with the basic questions lol)", but refused to give any details of the products I enquired about - including details on the products he claimed were theirs.After some hours of frustration and aggravation caused by Daniel Huggins, it became clear that the UK reseller is selling these items to Brits at around 5 times the price, for the exact same products which were designed and produced in China, not a knock-off of a UK product, but the original, made in CHINA device.I am hugely grateful to Sophie at Launch Online (China) for bearing with me through this UK reseller's deviousness and trouble-making, and for the patience, kindness, and help she gave to get this sorted.The UK reseller that does NOT advertise on Amazon (but have thier contact details on the Amazon advert for these products), is a fraudulent reseller, and I recommend customers of Launch Online (China) contact them, NOT the UK or EU resellers.The official Launch X431 series and others of the family, are ALL Chinese products, which are very well designed, built, and SUPPORTED by LAUNCH China. If you are within the licence period of the software, the easiest way to tell if you have bought your device from the official producer, is that you get very many updates. If you are unable to get updates, chances are you bought from a dodgy reseller in the UK/EU, who charged you a great deal more than the original Chinese asking price.If any of the information I have provided turns out to be false - then the blame rests with LAUNCH China, who convinced me this is their product, NOT a UK/EU product, and it is they who are being undermined by dishonest, un-official resellers.Comparing the customer service I received - the UK reseller was not even remotely interested in engaging with me for a potential purchase, OR resolution, and as already mentioned, engaged in fraud for no other purpose than to slander and defame the Original designer/maker, for fraudulent purposes.Sophie from LAUNCH China however, couldn't have been more encouraging, thoughtful, and helpful, and patiently went through my worries until they were resolved, and I may add, did so with utter professional aplomb, mixed with genuine humanity.It is therefore without hesitation or guile that I highly recommend the LAUNCH X-Series of devices, and very much recommend only dealing with LAUNCH China - their Customer Service is second to no one else, and their products reflect that quality too.Regarding the device itself, it is easy to use, came very well packaged, with extensive help in a very well written English-language manual (as well as extensive help and guidance within the device itself, and is a ruggedly-built and protected device, which is both quick and precise at diagnosis, and very well designed to help professional (real) mechanics quickly diagnose and fix multitudes of vehicles.This unit helped to fix my neighbours car, and both the offline and online modes worked flawlessly (my need to learn this device being the ONLY slow down in my usual performance).In addition, I have to add that being an Android-powered device, I have also been able to add quite a few of my personal favourite apps without issue, and this device now accompanies me wherever I go (well most of the time).As I have not used every feature of this device yet, and am in the process of establishing myself and a business, I cannot yet give a FULL review of my Launch X431 Elite Pro, yet what I have used so far has filled me with confidence that all parts will work as intended and claimed by Launch (China), in fact it is precisely because this device is so well made, that I have decided to re-enter a business I had given up hope of ever being able to get back in to (due to how much vehicles these days are tied into software).I hope this review has given others useful information, particularly to help others avoid being deceived like I was at first, as I nearly sent this device back, and potentially would have spent 5 times more for the same device, which would undoubtedly also have come from Launch, but via dishonest, uno0fficial, greedy UK/EU resellers, no doubt resulting in zero support, and zero Customer Service, and severly drained bank-accounts.Due to Sophie at Launch (China), I am their customer for life - that is how much their help has meant to me.

This is a great tool with a lot of functionality. Particularly noticeable on first use is the autoscan is extremely quick, both for vehicle identification and module detection. This unit is capable of talking to all modules in the vehicle, so diagnostics is NOT limited to just engine or gearbox issues. For example on the vehicle in the photos, it is able to communicate with the vehicle reverse camera module for diagnostics, resets and live data.From start-up to a list of modules and health scan report is around 2 minutes for most vehicles, so significantly quicker than some of the competitor devices.The screen and user interface is well thought out and a good size, the touch screen is also responsive, even when wearing gloves.For live data, rather than searching through the various parameters, you can do a keyword search which means you can quickly narrow down data from a long list of results – for example you can begin typing “DPF” and it’ll eliminate non-dpf related data PIDs from the list of live data.Graphing of live data seems to be quite clear with an update rate of a little faster than once per second. This should be enough for most applications, though for rapidly changing data you may still need an oscilloscope to probe the sensors directly.Depending on the vehicle, you’ll find an extensive list of bidirectional controls, module/adaptation resets and actuation tests. For those who work closely with DPF repairs, everything is listed including forced regen, particle filter learned values reset, pressure sensor reset etc, but these resets are also available for most other modules such as the gearbox/clutch, MAF, EGR and o2 sensors, so this tool should provide all functionality.The bi-directional controls are comprehensive, allowing you to actuate pretty much every solenoid or control function in the vehicle, as well as assisting with engine issues – it allows cylinder deactivation, fuel injector control which is particularly useful for diagnosis of misfires.The device is connected to the diagnostic port by a physical cable, so although it has a battery, it’ll be powered by the vehicle when connected. The battery lasts about 8 hours in constant use if not connected to a vehicle.Overall, it’s a great unit, the units above this model only really add a Bluetooth VCI and a larger screen, so if you don’t need those, this is a much better value for money diagnostic tool.

Received today and husband is set it up. QC sticker was pullrf off, however the set up went well. Plugged it in today into our own vehicle, then looked at all the settings. Tried all the settings and app, got to Diagnostic History and there has been a diagnose on there from June 2023 for a Land Rover Discovery! Went to read reviews and looked like we have received a third used product. It didn't come with a screen protector. It is a good product, however it's been previously used!

Fantastic scanner, compatible with many makes and models including light commercial vehicles. Considering the prices garages charge for just a simple scan process, it has definitely paid for its self in a very short time.Would definitely recommend

All good, although mine was used before, will send it back and order another unit, does the job very well with all the functions, one problem, can't update as it gets stuck on "chery" update...

Excellent bit of kit

Bought this launch machine for the garage to use on a professional level for general diagnostics. Have to say I'm more than impressed with it. I would say it's at levels double the price. Casing is a bit plastic but the features and performance and ease of use are outstanding and well above its price point.

I am very happy with my new Launch Scanner. The packaging was very impressive too. There is a great Quality feel to everything. Comes with a lovely storage case which also contains everything you need for charging and operating the Tool. This definitely is a professional level tool. I am looking forward to putting it to work. Also, very easy to setup. If you’re looking for a Quality diagnostic tool, this is definitely the one for you. I highly recommend to everyone. 😊
