My old dog is having trouble getting on the couch and I thought this would help in her getting on and off the couch without hurting herself from jumping off. She's catching on slowly, another 6 months and I hope she will have it mastered.

I like these for their simplicity and the ability to just fold them up and store them away if I need to. That foldability is a vulnerability, though, as it creates a weak spot in the structure and means that unless there is something in this at all times, the sides are not stable and even the pressure of the lid could cause this to collapse or fall in on itself. That also means that with or without contents, this is NOT for sitting. It is only for feet.This ottoman is great, however, for spaces without a lot of area to install heavier, chunkier furniture pieces for resting feet up and off the floor. It is also great for storing all those throw blankets and throw pillows that couches and chairs inevitably collect over time. It can hold a handful of standard fleece throw blankets, or a handful of pillows, and the more you pack it, the sturdier the sides are. Still not sturdy enough for an adult, but a smaller child may be safe on it with enough contents.The upholstery fabric of the shell is pretty easy to spot clean, or even steam clean, but do be careful how wet you get the fabric, since the inserts are probably either a thin MDF or compression board or heavy-duty cardboard/chipboard that will get mushy if it gets wet. It could be a plasticard type insert, but I wouldn't take the chance and I would be careful about moisture in regards to the insert.

I absolutely LOVE this storage box/foot stool. It's kept at my bedside and holds so much stuff. Very sturdy. Assembly is as easy as 1-2-3!!
