CANIDAEPURE Limited Ingredient Premium Adult Dry Dog Food, Lamb and Pea Recipe, 12 Pounds, Grain Free

I have a little dog with GI issues. I've tried so many different foods over the years. Most he can't tolerate at all. We have only found two other foods that he could handle but the formulas must have changed because after a year or so, not only could he no longer tolerate the food, one of my other dogs also had a bad reaction. So the search started anew! So glad I found this formulation of Canidae for him. I do try to keep all my dogs on the same food but my other dogs are each 60 lb, so this is a bit expensive to feed it to all of them. But at least my littlest dog is small and doesn't eat much. And more importantly he can tolerate and does like this one.

I've been feeding this food to my dogs for over three years. It's a high-quality product, and they do very well on it. I like that I can switch between the proteins and it doesn't cause them any issues. It may not be necessary, but I like to give them some variety. I used to work in a nice pet supply store in Chicago called Parkview Pet Supplies, and Canidae was one our consistent recommendations. It also seems as though they're one of the few high-quality pet food companies that hasn't sold out/been bought out by the big guys. As far as I can tell, they're still a family-owned business. I'll be feeding Canida Pure for the foreseeable future. I attached a photo of my little one on the day that I brought her home, just for fun. :-)

I have a dog allergic to Purina products, grass and possibly gluten. I was feeding him Merrick grain free. When Merrick sold to Purina, it was a red flag. I heard about Canidae, and found it locally. My dogs loved it. He even follows me into the room where I keep the dogfood, and wants it before I put it in his bowl.I usually make half dogfood, half homemade dogfood, but if I don't, they still love Canidae. Canidae is high quality, limited ingredient, grain/gluten free. They love the Canidae with 1/4th can of the same type mixed with the dry...and on non picky days, they'll eat the dry by itself.I love the Amazon price of this bag, the quality, and the fact is I can get it locally also. I hope this company stays small.

I bought CANIDAE Grain Free PURE Dry Dog Food to try for my maltese. She loves this and I even use this as a treat for her outside of mealtime, giving her one or two pieces as a reward for good behavior. Transitioning to this was easy and I did not encounter any complications. I started by mixing a bout 1/4 of this into her previous kibbles and increase 1/4 everyday until about 4-5 days, she's on Canidae completely.

My vet recommended that my dog eat only certain types of protein. Eating chicken or beef flavored foods was making him violently ill. Switching him to a grain free diet with a less common protein (like duck and lamb) has worked wonders! His coat also looks shiny and healthy.
