Worked brilliantly.
We have a spare room that nobody goes into and I didn't realise that our puppy was using it as a toilet. The smell was ungodly and I thought for sure that we would have to remove all the carpet and underlay. Tried to clean it with normal carpet shampoo, zoflora and simple solution and it wasn't shifting the smell. I used this NEAT (I think that's important) with a mini carpet cleaning machine. I used the sprayer and really drenched the carpet without sucking it back up and left it over night to dry. Much better but the smell hadn't completely gone so I got on my hands and knees and sniffed until I found the exact spots and drenched the carpet in the neat solution. Like flooded those spots entirely. It's worked! At no point did I ever reclean the carpet. I just left the solution to dry and didn't touch it afterwards. Now the shampoo smell has gone (where with normal cleaners you can smell the pee again), there's no horrible smells in the room at all.Yes it's on the pricey side, but a damn sight cheaper than replacing the carpet and underlay. Definitely worth a try if you use it the same way I did.

It actually works!!!
Was at my wits end with a stressed cat constantly peeing on the carpet NEXT TO one of his litter trays. The whole house stunk, and I felt as if I was walking around in a cloud of the stench even outside the house. It was truly horrendous. In desperation I searched through Amazon reviews, and decided that this product and a uv torch could help. The smell was so bad by that stage that I wasn’t sure the industrial sized bottle would be enough, but went with one bottle anyway, keeping my fingers crossed.Long story short, just a small amount of this pleasant, orange smelling disinfectant diluted with a token amount of water (not as per instructions) poured onto the problem area IMMEDIATELY killed the smell. No kidding - the smell went instantly. I actually cried I was so relieved.Sadly, the cat peed in the same place the following day, but a quick scrub and some more nearly neat disinfectant, combined with aluminium foil strategically placed on the carpet sorted the problem out, and he hasn’t peed inappropriately since (over a month). More importantly, the house no longer smells like a feral cat rescue centre!(The uv torch didn’t help, and I ended up sniffing my way around the floor like a police dog to check for random patches.)Have also used the disinfectant this week to clean carpets and a mattress after my little boy was violently sick, and it has worked a treat on that too.I really can’t recommend it highly enough.

Actually neutralised the smell
My dog urinated on my carpet… absolute nightmareI scrubbed for days however could still smell urine and was reluctantly going to have to replace the carpet which is only 2 years old and looks brand new.I was advised to try this enzyme cleaner before replacing the carpet and this actually done the trick to neutralise the smell I used this with a scrubbing brush allowed to sit and then along side a spot cleaner the smell was neutralised leaving no strong smell of product

Not worth the expense
Didn’t make any difference to cat/dog urine stains... was about as effective as 1001 or usual carpet machine shampoo

Try a 15% solution in a carpet washer
So first of all it did a great job whenused with my carpet washer and is reasonably priced (somewhere between the manufacturers own brand which is 40 a bottle and the no frills but still great option at my local tool stockists at 11 a bottle). The only thing I'd mark it down on is clarity of instructions which say mix 20-50 parts with.....? And that for carpet cleaners follow manufacturers instructions which is unhelpful as its based on their own solutions. I decided to mix a roughly 25%strength solution and it did a fantastic job. I reckon 10% may even suffice. I will probably use my normal cheap and nasty detergent day to day and have this as a once monthly treatment.

Good but not good enough for tough jobs
I bought this to get rid of the smell of urine in the toilet carpet. I let it soak like it suggests, and it did fetch a lot of the urine out and a lot of the smell, but it was still there and I have an industrial cleaner with a very powerful pump and suction. I went over the areas several times but I could still see the stains and smell the odour. Although I think it's OK for everyday use, it's not good enough for tough jobs like the toilet area, despite what it claims. I'm very disappointed with it. I'm hoping I get better results with my living room carpet.
