Works as intended and better than I expected
I expected it would not work or work poorly. I was wrong. It is worth the cost. It is midrange quality. I use rEFInd boot manager and was able to boot various Linux OS from this drive adapter. This adapter showed in gnome disk utility and gparted app. I installed it in a older Dell server. I'm not around the server so cannot recall model. The bracket is way faster than most cheap USB converters & seems more compatible. Plus you don't have to worry about it being removed or broken like a USB dongle. It was very easy to setup, install and use. The board seems sturdy. It came with a heats ink but no thermal pad. I reused an extra I had. It has a screw to hold drive down. It let's you reuse extra nvme drives. My scenario was I upgraded a laptop. So I put smaller laptop drive into this adapter. I think most people would be happy considering cost and utility.

A great little card for adding an additional NVMe drive!
This card was a great and quick solution to add a new NVMe drive to my system. It dropped right into the PC Express slot and installing the NVMe drive on the card was very easy and toolless. The speeds were excellent working just as well as the drives mounted on my motherboard. The price is also extremely reasonable. No complaints!

Pretty decent.
Bought this to add an M2 drive to an older computer for more storage. Item works well. I like the construction. Easy to add the M2 drive and slot in the computer. Only thing that I don't like is that the screws to attach the heat sink tend to flex the board.Funny thing, is it comes with a screwdriver but it's the wrong kind for the screws (phillips screws, flathead screwdriver). Not a big problem since I have screwdrivers but it is funny.

Mostly good.
Pros: Worked as described for the most part, fit as intended, and it's a pro it came with 2 thermal pads, not just one. The plastic screws for the heatsink could also be tightened without the use of a screwdriver (you don't want to over-tighten and potentially damage the SSD, or bend the adapter).Cons: Couldn't manage to push the spring fasteners through the heatsink, and wasn't able to loosen the screw for the metal plate covering the PCIe slot using the included tiny screwdriver. The tiny screwdriver was fine for screwing the adapter together and securing the SSD to the adapter with the small locking screw, but I needed my own longer screwdriver to open up the expansion slot on the case; I just couldn't apply enough force/leverage with the tiny screwdriver to loosen the screws.

Works
Works well, my only gripe is the extension cable isn't very flexible.

Works well - flexible features
Works as it should. Is nice that it's an x1 width. Stays put and is working great with my older motherboard and M.2 drive

good if you have nowhere else to put your old m.2 nvme ssd
i bought this to save throwing away an m.2 nvme ssd for lack of m.2 slots when getting a larger one, and because i had only pcie 3.0 x1 slots left. pcie 3.0 x1 tops out at around 1GB/sec, which is much slower than current nvme ssds so this is a last resort if you really want to keep one. this adapter is so cheap it's definitely worth it.ssds typically bench around 1/2 of their theoretical max speed so i have measured around 500MB/sec on winsat through this adapter. this is still significantly faster than sata iii, which generally manages around 300MB/sec.i didn't have any problems installing it other than a likely motherboard-specific issue (2011 motherboard) which restricted which pcie slots i could use it in relative to an m.2 nvme to pcie 3.0 x4 adapter also installed. the green led is a nice touch although maybe a shade of violet would have been more interesting.in the pic you will see that i installed it without the backplate, as in that slot the backplate would not fit above the gpu's heat spreader. it's fine as i didn't use the heatsink so the whole unit is very small and light and easily held by the pcie slot.

Simple and fast
easy to install, build quality is good and not flimsy and has great speeds considering it's only 2x2.
