Santos Martinez SM150CEA Preludio Cutaway electro classical guitar

Given the price paid I was expecting to have to perform a set up to improve the playability of this guitar but, I have to say, it played really well straight from the box. Materials and construction are very good. The top is a nicely book matched two piece in solid spruce and the overall finish is great. The budget set of tuners work well though the strings took a few days before they would stay in tune and the guitar would probably benefit from a new set of higher quality. As alluded to in its title, this is a modern take on a classical guitar with improved access to the higher frets, a decent quality pre-amp and plastic body binding. The fret ends are a little sharp and could do with tidying but this is really a minor detail given the quality, playability, tone and price.

I would like to give 5 star on this guitar, OK the action the tune and overall is well made, bad point are, not working in electric mode found one connector inside of the guitar unplugged, cable holder not fixed inside the instrument, the fret deliver the sensation to cut the hands when slide the hand, anyway easy think to fit which put in second floor the very nice sound an quality of it. The industry which produce this device need to put little bit effort on the final check out.

After lots of research I bought this guitar for my 12-year old son who has outgrown the 3/4 size guitar he's been learning on for several years. The quality of sound is really impressive and he finds it very playable. The fact that it's semi-acoustic means he can experiment with different sounds and pedals as well as using it for practice. It looks great too; the cutaway gives it a bit of style classical guitars sometimes lack. My son's guitar teacher is so impressed he's tempted to get one for himself! Really great value. Definitely recommend.
