USB-C charging works well and USB A flash drives do too. The contoured piece of plastic on the back side gives it some added stability and appears to minimize stress on the connected USB ports of the Surface. I have yet to use HDMI connectivity, unfortunately my delivery date was pushed back a couple of days which meant I was unable to use as planned during a recent business trip. I do plan to use while presenting and will add to this review with how it performed.

Disappointing that this dock is advertised as compatible with Surface Pro 7 BUT can only be used if you unplug the Surface's power supply!!Poor design and bad information.

I have been waiting for a product designed to fit both the USB C and the USB 3.0 from the Surface Pro 7 and this one delivers everything needed in a compact solution. No more dangling cords or large bulky adapters. Prefect solution for mobile presentations or where you need an additional USB connection for a mouse or external drive. I have several devices, but this is by far my favorite

This is a great port expander for the Surface Pro 7. Plugged right in. Secure -- no wiggle or looseness. Recognized by my SP7 immediately. Works with my trackball mouse and read my SD card with no problems. However, it's designed such that the SD card sticks out and is not fully inserted into the slot. This can be dangerous if you're not careful. Walk too close to the device and get your shirt caught on the SD card and it could snap off, destroying the card and damaging the device. The card should go fully into the reader and not hang out (see picture). Otherwise, I love the extra ports it gives me. Now my SP7 can fully replace the laptop it was purchased to replace.
