Unique license plate screws with special adapter to put them on...
These are excellent license plate screw with a special adapter screw that fits the head (they are a 5 slot screw heads- not quite a Torx head but close. The special 1/4" screw head adapter is made specifically for these license plate bolts. THE PROBLEM IS SIMPLE: Does your vehicles license plate bolt spots accommodate a FINE thread screw? (my vehicle is German made and does NOT accommodate these screws with a thread that is NOT fine) That is the only glitch with these license plate screws- the thread is far from fine and will NOT work on my license plate frame bolt spots. The bolts and the bolt heads are unique enough that I chose to keep them with the hope that I vehicle someday that will accommodate these unique plate screws!

Used these to secure a Type-S license plate backup camera
Bought one of those Type-S license plate backup cameras for my '98 Dakota, but it came with regular ole phillips tip screws to mount it which I thought was kinda stupid on their part as it makes it easily stealable.Searched around and found these, they are 1/4 x 20 and screwed right in no problems. It's a 5 pointed star bit with a pin in the center so a little more secure than the 6 pointed ones every one else sells, so it makes it a little less easily stealable.

Doesn't fit normal license plate screws
Very disappointing experience. It is a crap shoot to gamble that is fits your license plate screws.Wish they gave the size of the screws and what cars the plate fits. I loss money because I had to return it andAmazon wouldn't give me a full refund.

Good quality and security
Rather expensive for 4 screws. Need to weigh that against the hassle of replacing your plates.The cost is understandable in that the drive design is non-standard (similiar to Torx Security but with 5 points), and by definition of limited production. That is also a guarantee somewhat greater tamper resistance.

Solid mounting and secure.
Nice and secure. Wouldn’t take a genius to get it off. Hell they could simply yank and the plastic that cars have now would just let go. Would mess up the plate though so that works out.

Poor Pkg Quality Control
Special drill bit missing. Had to find one at local Hardware store. Better QC needed.

Easy to install, feel a lot safer about getting license plate stolen. Would highly recommend!!!

Didn’t fit.
These were supposed to be the right size to fit my car. Unfortunately, they did not fit — and I didn’t find out u til after the return window closed. Disappointed and out $20.

Would be great but doesn’t fit.
I have given this a 5 star review as the screws and bit it comes with will definitely deter most people from easily stealing your license plate. I don’t want to rate it poorly since the product is of great quality. I am in Alberta and these screws are almost double the thickness of my standard license plate screws. My roommates vehicle also has the same sizing issue so it’s not just my vehicle and because of that I had to return it.

Disappointed Due To Size of Screws
Quality was excellent and confident it would secure the plate, but the screw size is too big. Our plates were provided by the dealership and the screw size is universal, but these screws would strip the thread and still won't fit. We need to replace the plate holder with larger holes to make this work. I'm also disappointed with the screw bit. It's too wide for a simple Philips Screwdriver and don't understand why you need a Drill?

Great Deterrant for Number Thieves
My daughter had her number stolen recently and the hassle it caused was incredible. Nothing will stop a determined thief ripping off a tin number plate but at least this product means the thief may think twice and move to a car close by with normal screw fittings.

It’s worth buying them with peace of mind!
I will still give it 5 stars though only the front plate fits the screws...the rear having a different thread orientation...I ordered it too! I suggest to check on the thread if your existing screws before you buy them, they’re available too...I recommend this, it’ll be your money’s worth plus your peace of mind!

Anti-theft License Plate Screws
I love the concept of the anti-theft screws, I believe it's a great product and well worth the money. However, most of my family and friends require 6 screws to completly service 1 car. 4 screws are needed for the back plate of the car and 2 screws for the front plate. I think if the seller could just add 2 more screws to his package and keep the price the same, that will help a lot of people, it will definitely give him the edge on his competitors.
