I'm a big fan of a good shave, and have become somewhat of a snob about what products I use. This has been a challenge the last year or so of my life, since becoming a vegan and trying to use strictly vegan/cruelty free products. I had tried several other products, which shall remain nameless, and have been sorely disappointed. Finally after doing yet another Google search for "best vegan shaving products for men," Imperial showed up in an article, and I decided to give it a whirl. I could not be more pleased.The pre-shave oil is wonderful, the bergamot after-shave is superb, and the star of the show, the shave soap, is absolutely top notch. Most other vegan/cruelty free soaps and creams are either too watery, too runny, or don't lather well. This soap lathers up perfectly, and provides an amazing cushion. Even if you don't care about animals or the environment (I'm looking at you, Janet), you won't regret this purchase if you're in the market for a great shave. I've found my new line of products. I've even started purchasing their after-shave balm and hair pomades, which I have not had the opportunity to try just yet. I rarely write reviews, but I'm so impressed with this stuff that I feel compelled to write one now.What I was looking for when I bought this product was a light splash-on without an overpowering scent. And that's exactly what I got. If you want something with an overpowering smell that lasts all day, this isn't for you. But the scent and astringent properties are beyond good. I can get away with not using alum or a styptic pencil on my face, even when I've managed to mangle myself. The oils in this product are light and soothing and leave my face feeling soft and hydrated all day long.In the end, it's $12. Even if you end up not loving it, call it a $12 experiment and move on with your life. Chances are high, though, that you'll like it. On days when you don't want to smell strongly all day and you just want something light and summery to make your face feel awesome, you'll have zero regrets about that $12 you once spent on a really great product.

I've been using this for months and months now (1 bottle has lasted that long). Sometimes, on days when I'm not shaving, I still splash some on just for the amazing scent and how it feels on my face and neck.It has alcohol in it, but it's gentle, not a huge, burning amount like other after shaves I've used. I feel the sting, but only a bit, which I like. No burn, though.The scent is amazing: clean bergamot (citrus/orange) scent, but not a cloying orange blast at all; almost like a combination of orange, lemon, and lime. Wholly natural smelling and just very refreshing and real.My only complaint would be that I wish the scent lasted, so I could use it as a cologne...but then it'd be a cologne and not an after shave, of course. But the aroma's that nice to me, anyway.I've just ordered another bottle. This stuff's the business.

I have tried many different bands of shave soaps and creams. This is by far the best, and most economical. I started off my high end shaving career using the Art of Shaving products. They are great, but grossly overpriced. My local store closed and I was left searching for an alternative. I settled on the Paraso brand with is great as well, but do not have full line. Having tried the shave oil and aftershave with great success. I tried this. Absolutely, the best. The lather thickness is easily controlled with the amount of water, and the container is better at sealing the product than any other brand.

Despite the picture and description, I bought the Imperial Barber Products bergamot after shave, and not the shave soap. I'm assuming that the product numbers shifted or something. The after shave is great. I bought it for my husband to use as something that was not overpowering scent wise that still smelled nice and was a little kinder than the rubbing alcohol he has used since he started shaving. He is very happy with the effectiveness of it, and I love the smell.
