Purchased for gift. The scarf is soft and warm and the colors very attractive. My friend loves it and wears it often, currently traveling back east with it. Recommend.

Well...as there is no tag attached to the scarf to specify material percentages, I cannot vouch for its real wool content. HOWEVER: it is wonderfully soft, large enough to be a shawl but flexible and soft enough to be an excellent cold-weather scarf and head covering without feeling too bulky. Love the black and white, because it can be sophisticated or 'casual plaid'. I will attempt a machine wash very gently, and report the results. Too me it feels like it may well have a significant wool/cashmere content.
