Not the best
I bought both these and the larger colored version, which were garbage. These are only slightly better, I have one of these from New Zealand that is over 17 yrs old and our kids love it, so I thought I would order another one that is new to see how much better they have become. Well when I got it I was disappointed, first its difficult to get going, almost impossible in fact. The older one even my 5 yr old daughter can get going, but these are very difficult to get started, once you do get them started, the weight is off, the steel hoop is very lite compared to my older version, and the spinning nuts are too light as well, which means there is very little feedback and the sound is very different from the old one too. i also noticed that the steel hoop was not perfectly smooth it had groves all along the sides like an octagon, very subtle but noticeable, which im sure impacts performance. Its really too bad, because these are fun toys for the kids. Had to return both of these.

Quality toy that will not break
I have not seen the older version of this toy the other reviewer mentions but I have seen a lot just like this one. The weight seems nice and the ring is sturdy. I had no trouble getting it started and keeping in going. I have seen tons of people try this for the first time at my work where we use it as a training aid and while most don’t get it the first try most can within a few minutes and everyone eventually get it. I have seen kids pick it up suprisingly fast.
