Although I found that a higher flow rate setting (around 6 or 7) was necessary to achieve effective distribution of fertilizer, the overall process was still straightforward and efficient. The spreader has a comfortable design, making it easy to carry and operate. However, it's worth noting that it does become somewhat heavy when fully loaded.One potential limitation is its ability to handle larger materials like winter salt. I plan to test this in the winter, but there's a possibility that larger granules might not pass through the openings as easily. Nonetheless, for spreading seeds, small to medium-sized fertilizer, and possibly other materials, this spreader is a reliable and practical choice. It's a great investment for those looking to maintain their lawns with ease and convenience.

When I ordered this spreader, I hoped it would be easier to use than a walk behind push spreader. It's not easier or harder; just different and takes a little patience and practice to get it right. The pros about this spreader are: light weight, usb charge port, long lasting charge, adjustable (flow rate, speed, & spreading width), compact, easy to store, easy push turn on and off button, and a detailed instruction booklet. The main con with the spreader is figuring out how to spread the fertilizer evenly. The spreader is light weight, but spreading the fertilizer evenly across the lawn requires some practice. Now that I've used it several times, I've gotten better at it. The first time I used the spreader, I slightly burned a few areas of the grass. The grass quickly recovered, and I have not burned the grass since. I found it was necessary to hold the spreader level and walk at a steady/consistent pace across the grass for the best results. Adjusting the flow rate, speed, and spreading width took some trials and errors to get it right. Overall, this is a good spreader once you get the hang of using it.

Earlier in the year, my mother, who is in her '80s, tried to put down some grass seeds, using the manual crank model, and ran into some issues. It was not a good experience. Therefore, when the opportunity presented itself, for me to get this multi-use GARCARE power spreader, I did not hesitate. This versatile spreader is charged with a USB Type-C charging cable, which is included. Its 3.3 liter large capacity hopper can accept grass seed, agricultural seed, fertilizer, rock salt, de-icer, and more. It has 8 material type settings, along with 6 spreading speeds, that determine ejection distance, up to 5 meters. In addition, the spreading angle can be adjusted, while ejecting, up to a maximum spreading angle of 125°. It seems well made, and ready to tackle any job that is presented. No more hand cranking! I really look forward to using this, a lot more, once the spring gets here.
