Basic Urdu; An elementary course of Urdu Learning: 1

I found this book confusing and poorly laid out. Good value if you just want to get a general Idea as a beginner and you have a native speaker to explain it to you. You do need a teacher as well as this book. There is quite a large vocabulary section, but the dividing lines are faint and you have to get used to the layout. Grammar is not explained and there are some quite difficult exercises. The exercises are not progressive or explained well. There are some errors in the English contained in this book.

Quality is acceptable but the pronunciation of words is hard for an English speaker to understand. One basic problem with every single English-to-Urdu book on the market.

States " an elementary course" would disagree. You need a understanding of script. For adults learning Urdu language no use.
