One of my favorites by this author
This was such a delight--the banter, the mystery, the sweet moments, all of it. I enjoyed the first book in this series well enough, but this one--this one I LOVED. Charming and intriguing in all the right measures. And Sheridan might be one of my most favorite characters ever now!

Such a great series!
This series is wonderfully rich in history with a lovely setting and great characters that are in each book. I read them out of order, #1, #3, and then this one, #2, and it was fine but ideally would be better in order. Set in the Isles of Scilly off the coast of England in the early 1900's, we meet a group of friends and family set on searching for antiquities and treasures left behind by pirates and a prince. But it is a race to beat out other people with the same goal in mind. And these people can be dangerous for those who get in their way. Beth Tremayne and Lord Sheridan started off on the wrong foot, but their banter and ongoing dialogue is so funny and sweet as their relationship develops. And they both have a love of adventure that brings them together. I think their story may be my favorite of the series. Highly recommended for history lovers with suspense, romance, and adventure.

Much better than Book 1
I enjoyed book 2 in the series much more than book 1. Sheridan and Beth were a delightful couple with much more chemistry than Oliver and Libby. I loved the humor. I was so glad to see the way the author wrote his sisters into the story and didn't have them resist Sheridan's new relationship because of Beth's social status. The treasure hunting was much easier to follow in this book as well. There are a lot of recurring characters, so I would definitely recommend reading the books in order. On to the conclusion.

Simply marvelous
At first, I wasn’t sure I liked Sheridan - but it shows the author’s talent to keep him the same, while changing my opinion of him. That is why this author is in my top 5 of all time. I love her characters, I love the history, and the locations and circumstances she writes. I never wanted this book to end, so I’m glad that there will be a third book in the series.I wouldn’t quite say this stands alone, it will definitely be better if you read The Nature of a Lady first, as that is where the action gets started, and this book picks up right where that one ends.Clean, with some great kisses, and some marvelous discussions about pearls of great price. Also done spectacularly well. This is Christian fiction, but not sickly sweet, conversion is necessary to gain love type. No preachy overbearing. I am Christian, so I love it. Even if you’re not, I don’t think you’ll mind it too much.

A Fun Treasure Hunting Adventure!
I definitely recommend this author and this series. I enjoy Christian Historical books with a touch of clean romance. It was somewhat ironic that I was reading this when Queen Elizabeth II passed away because it is located on a group of British Islands. I am looking forward to the next installment in this series.

What Happened?
Up front, i will say, I'm a White fan. I buy all of my books when they're 99 cents or $1.99. White, however, I buy full price. Because I like her. I don't know what happened with this series. White pulled a Beverly Lewis and wrote one book, but divided it in two (hopefully only two). Bethany House seems to think this is a good idea. This book continues the story line of the first book in the series, so the reader has to figure (remember) the plot from book 1. I was a third of the way through before book 1 finally came back to me. Also, I'm not fond of silly men. White usually develops her characters well. This was a frivolous read. This book doesn't come up to her normal standards. This makes me a little nervous for her next book. Hopefully she will go back to her usually intriguing writing.

Characters are wonderful
This book concludes a series and that is sad. The characters are interesting and likeable. Relationships are thoroughly explored. And, the history and culture of the island makes for a fun and interesting read.

Delightful
This is so well-written--thoughtful plot and character development, nothing contrived...and the humor was my favorite part. It is a joy to find something that actually makes you physically smile as you read! I enjoyed the first one in this series and am now looking forward to any additional stories.
