Small & compact. Takes a lot of trial & error to work, Minimal manual.
Update October: it won’t recirculate after charge. Shows green and never goes to “Blue”. Won’t pump. I ordered a different larger pump system, and started to take this apart to throw it away, but one last time decided to reverse the plug. Than it started pumping! This system takes a huge amount of trial & error to work correctly! It’s hard to tell which is the correct way for the plug-in! (Especially that I need readings glasses to see it).Original review: One of my cats came right over to drink as soon as I set it up. I show pictures of it next to my old fountain, the drink well zen, which is nice for the metal bowl (this is plastic) but the old one is much more difficult to assemble after cleaning has an immersible pump needed brushes to clean that, and keep from getting moisture in the plug so I am going to leave it set up for a few days side-by-side and then the old one will be a back up for the times when we need more water out like when we’re away (rarely). I’ve got six cats so we will see how often I need to clean and fill it. I just looked at the manual pictures to get the assembly. Everything has notches for its own place to go pump on one side, filter on the other, so it was easy to clean and easy to set up. Only thing I don’t like is that it’s plastic. Also, the filter does seem to be a better multistage unit. My old one just had a really flimsy carbon filter. I do have nice RO water that I put in the red fountain so it’s already good quality water and shouldn’t need much carbon filter. My old fountain I had to buy a little mesh aquarium bag to cover the fountain so that it wouldn’t get so much hair in it. My old one was having a little bit of trouble with the volume output on the submersible pump (way more volume than the new red fountain) even after cleaning, so I think it might be near its end of life. The old one sometimes got moisture in the plug and had to dry before it worked. So both of them have advantages and disadvantages. The main thing with this red one is how much easier it is to clean as the pump only the impeller is in the water. Everything fits easily so cleaning is unsnapping the filter & the pump then the bowl and tank are easy to clean by hand. Don’t know if the tube for the spray can be or should be cleaned. It seems like the filter set was more expensive but it is a nicely designed stack that snaps into its own place. If you don’t use good quality RO water this filter stack might be better for your needs; could even use with distilled water or tap water ( if there is no chlorine like we have and remove in our house filtering system to keep the RO membrane intact).Update: it took about two weeks for the solid red light to show it needed recharging. The green blinking light means it’s charging, the solid green indicates it’s done, it takes about 2.5 hours to charge. I clean it every 2-3 days, which doesn’t seem enough water for all my cats although I do feed them canned food with water to encourage water consumption. Average water per cat should be 1 cup per cat per day. The cord for setting up to your charger was very short (usb port) so I have to disconnect the whole thing to charge it in a different place. I may consider moving it permanency over to where I charge it as the length between charges varies probably due to my multicat household. Also, the little cover on the back of the unit for the plug receptacle wasn’t initially obvious for the charger. The plug cover is red and small, on the back of the pump housing. The manual does not say how long to charge it for.The recirculation stream comes on every hour, and whenever anyone approaches to drink. I assume that the UV is actuated at the same time, but there is nothing anywhere on how that works! It might be on continually which it should be to be truly Uv clean, but there is nothing about that in the manual. The uv bulb is on the under portion of the pump housing pointing to the water. Another reviewer has photos of that.Update on battery life: the yellow blink for filter change did not clear so after that I got less than a week on the charge. It dropped significantly since the filter change didn’t clear, and I track that with my phone calendar anyway as I do not think the filter set needs to be changed every month with my RO water in it and cleaning every few days.I finally discovered how to clear the yellow filter change light: press four times very quickly! Instruction says to tap it, but I was apparently pressing too long. A five second press shuts it off so I was doing it shorter than that and getting beeps when doing so. It needs very fast successive presses to clear the filter light. The ease of cleaning this setup is it’s main advantage and it’s a little small for my multi cat household of 6 cats. That also affects its battery life because the stream is activated when they go to drink; it varies considerably for me from a few days to several weeks! For me that’s its biggest disadvantage.I am using my old fountain outside for a stray neighborhood cat we started feeding (it was starving). We’ve also seen a raccoon so both might drink the water.

My finicky cat loves this!
Easy to clean, easy to replace the water, easy to recharge the motor. The filters are rather expensive and run out quickly, but even just to have moving water for my cat (in a space where I don't have an electrical outlet) works. My cat always pawed at his water bowl, now he just drinks because it starts moving when it senses that he's in front of it. Felix and I are really happy with this. Worth the money.

BEST Automatic Water Fountain
We primarily got this water fountain because our previous one (pump on wire type) was deemed too dangerous due to several reasons. Firstly, there’s the risk of electric shock if the pump’s insulation fails or if the wires become exposed due to wear and tear, which can be a danger not only to your cat but also to anyone handling the fountain. Secondly, if the wires are within the cat’s reach, they might chew or play with them. Lastly, submerged pumps can also increase the likelihood of bacterial or mold growth if not cleaned regularly or properly, which could lead to health issues for your cat. This water fountain crossed every box for us! We wanted a fountain with external battery/wiring to operate the pump and battery powered to prevent exposed wires near our cats. That is exactly what we got and more! The motion sensor works great and always starts when a cat is near. Due to the sensor, the fountain battery life lasts between 10-14 days depending on usage and that’s with 3 cats! It charges fairly quick but can be used while it’s charging so plug it in for a few hours and you’re good for weeks. The filters are actually better than any cat fountain filter I’ve used. I’ve been through dozens of fountains and they all had cheap filters. These filters aren’t cheap but they work very well. Anytime I’ve opened the fountain, there is no gunk built up anywhere or in the water. One cool feature I like to note is that it does a “cleaning” cycle every 8 hours which is when it pumps water aggressively to clear the water bowl from hair/residue. It’s a nice touch but I will say you can here the pump if you’re close by for 30 seconds or so. Despite that, it is very quiet! All in all, I’d highly recommend this fountain to every cat owner! Best way to keep your pet safe and healthy!

Love the quiet
I really like this water fountain. I have 2 cats and i had bought them their first fountain last year but it was super loud (which I've read attracts them to it so they drink more) so i tried to put up with it but i just couldn't stand the sound anymore and i had to plug it into an extension cord for where i put it. I bought this one because its rechargeable and i can put it wherever i want and oh man is it quiet! I love that. I gave it 4 stars because i don't know how much the cats like it. So that kinda worries me.

Works well, not all cats like it
Support was great! The form for contact is for support tickets. It's a little unclear. They got back fast though and we resolved. The documentation is a little sparse on things like what flashing red means. I do like it's far easier to clean a simple tank rather than a weird shaped extruded unit! I kind of worry you can't clean out the tube the water feeds through, but we'll see. Not all my cats like it, but most do.BTW If you get a flashing red try gentle taps on the pump a couple of times. I just gently jiggle it a little.

The best fountain I’ve had
I have a Bombay and a pittie/golden retriever mix who share this fountain. My fountain never is slimy on the bottom and it’s easy to know when to replace the filter and recharge due to light changes which help my ADD brain

Great fountain
Love this, yet I did buy another since my cat likes more of a stream, where this makes more of a pool of water. But it works well, goes weeks between charges, and tells you when to change the filter. Would purchase again
