Good 0 calorie and 0 GI sweetener option
This relates mainly to Erythritol in general, with a few points about this particular product. I’ve not tried any other brands, so cannot compare to other brands. Pros and Cons, then full review..Pros:(Almost) 0 calorie sweetenerDoes not raise blood sugar (GI is 0)Doesn’t harm teethCan be used (and looks and feels) like normal sugarI find it just as sweet, although has a very slight aftertaste at firstIs usually better tolerated than other sugar alcohols, causing fewer side effects (see below)Comes in sealed tub rather than bag, so easier dispensing/accessCan be used as sweetener for DIY e-juice mixing, with higher burn-point than sucraloseApproved as safe by WHO and FDAMay have health benefitsIs not an artificial sweetenerThis was cheapest option I could findPros or Cons, depending on priorities:Is less sweet than sugar: 60 – 70% is statedNaturally occurring, but mass-produced from glucose and yeastSlight laxative effect may be beneficial for those with constipation (but not for others!)Cons:Made in China, packed in Poland – don’t see this as con myself, but some mightCan cause stomach rumbling, nausea, bloating and diarrhoea in higher doses or in those with high sensitivity to sugar alcoholsCan have a slight cooling effect or aftertaste in mouth (not everyone perceives this, though)My blood sugar levels were elevated at last test, so have been experimenting with low GI sweeteners...Packing:My tub was sealed underneath the lid, as you can see in pic 1. Tub seems more practical than a bag to me. Has a batch number and best before date on sticker, mine was March 21.Comparison with other “natural” low GI/calorie sugars:I’ve tried Yacon syrup and Sukrin, and have ordered Monk Fruit Extract and Stevia extract (97% Rebaudioside A). Yacon syrup is a less processed product than this, so some may consider it more “natural”, and contains fructooligosaccharides (FOS). Similarly, Sukrin contains isomalto-oligosaccarides (IMO), which are both prebiotics (feed gut bacteria), but can have similar digestive side-effects to sugar alcohols. Also, Yacon contains 30% fructose, so does raise blood sugar levels, just less than sugar. Compared to Yacon and Sukrin, this has a far purer sugar taste and is sweeter. Plus, it’s not a syrup, so can be used just like sugar. Compared to Xylitol, this has lower GI, so raises blood sugar less, although there are other 0 GI sugar alcohols. Unlike Xylitol, this is not poisonous for dogs.Taste:I did perceive a very faint aftertaste when I tried it at first, but then at successive tastings, could no longer perceive it. It tastes just as sweet as white sugar to me, but then my sense of taste is not very refined.Side effects:In people with IBS, digestive issues or high sensitivity to sugar alcohols, this might not be tolerated well, causing various digestive side effects. Unlike other sugar alcohols, most of it is absorbed before it reaches the colon, so in theory, it should be better tolerated. Higher doses of Yacon or Sukrin (more than a few teaspoons per day) cause mild to moderate bloating, wind and stomach rumbling with me, but also a mild laxative effect, which I count as a plus. Have yet to see how this affects me. WebMed recommends no more than 1 g per kg of body weight per day, and says most people will tolerate this without side effects.Evidence:There is a good evidence base for safety. There are some studies suggesting that sugar alcohols and erythritol in particular may have health benefits, such as anti-oxidant effects and improved blood vessel function in diabetics, but more studies need to confirm this. Studies have also found that erythritol is resistant to fermentation by gut bacteria, so shouldn’t have a negative (or positive?) effect on gut microbes (also why it should cause fewer side effects compared to other sugar alcohols). Depending on labelling practices, often labelled as 0 calorie, and is almost 0 calories, at 0.24 calories per gram (sugar has 4 calories per gram).Effect on blood sugar:Generally accepted to be 0 GI, so has no effect on blood sugar, but I’ve read that some diabetics say it raises blood sugar slightly.Use as DIY e-juice sweetener:More heat stable than sucralose, so should not have the same effects on coils. Have not tried it yet myself, so can’t confirm. Is said to be less sweet than sucralose for vaping, by ¼ to ½. Diluted at 5% in VG, as doesn’t dissolve well in PG, and used like sucralose: with caution in small amounts. Companies that sell prepared (5%) solutions for use in e-juice recipes recommend using at 1 – 5%.Overall, I would say that for a nearly 0 calorie and 0 GI "natural" sweetener, if you don’t mind the high price (still lower than Yacon Syrup or Monk Fruit extract, though), this is a good option. Regarding possible side effects, the only sure way to know is to test it yourself. If you can’t tolerate sugar alcohols, FOS/IMO products (Sukrin, Yacon syrup) or Stevia, Monk Fruit Extract might an option, although it’s horrendously expensive.

A fabulous natural sugar alternative!
Great natural sugar replacement, with no aftertaste. Not as sweet as sugar, so I need to add a bit more to hot drinks, but it is particularly good, as it doesn't overpower like sugar often does, thus providing just enough sweetness, and allowing me to enjoy the natural flavour of tea or coffee. A bonus is that it dissolves completely, so there is no residue left at the bottom of the cup.I haven't yet tried it in cooking or baking, and I imagine I will have to experiment to get the quantity just right. Otherwise, I think it will taste great and nobody will guess what they are eating is made without sugar.

good substitute for sugar
I liked that this came in a sturdy jar that can be placed on a shelf and not fall over. Erithritol is one of the best alcohol based sweeteners for me anyway as it has the least gastrointestinal effects. It can be mixed with sugar in varying amounts to reduce the sugar contents. Better for blood sugar and teeth. It is quite expensive, but as I don't use a lot of sugar, a package does go a long way with us.

Very nice product but aftertaste is obvious when using alone.
It works impressively well more or less as sugar with cooking and baking, though when adding to coffee or tea with tasteless ingredient such as unsweetened almond milk, the aftertaste did present.

Great substitute for caster sugar.
Makes perfect low carb sponge cakes, an excellent 1:1 sweetness replacement. The 'cold' effect in the mouth means it's less good for sprinkling, but I don't mind it at all.A bit pricey, but beautifully packed in a very nice container, so needs no decanting, and the crystals stay separated, I really like it. Now on my 2nd batch and certain to buy more in future.

Great!
I've used erythritol (different brands) in the past, so there's no surprise re flavour for me. Yes, it's less sweeter than the regular sugar BUT it doesn't have this artificial/unpleasant aftertaste like the alternatives. Plus it's natural and neutral for our bodies!Big plus for the packaging! I also like that it's a little finger than the other e.thst I've used. Makes it good for cooking (pancakes etc.)

Is the weight measurement accurate?!
Good taste but the strange thing is although the label says it is 1 kg , when i bought erythritol from a different company(1 kg) as well and emptied the sugar into this tub there was still a good amount of sugar that i had to put into another container which raises a question about the accuracy of the weight given!!

Perfect for Keto and no bitter after taste!
Excellent alternative to sugar especially for the Keto diet as it has zero carbs. Not as sweet as sugar but sweet enough.Immediately tried two tsp in a bullet proof coffee. No bitter aftertaste like with stevia.Maybe I won’t need to throw out my liquid stevia if I use the two together to try and cancel out that problem.Happy with fast delivery 🚚 . Arrived the next day with Prime.

Geschmacklich leider sehr schwach
Im Grunde braucht man die doppelte Menge des im Supermarkt erhältlichen Erythrit, somit hebt sich der günstige Preis schon wieder auf.
