This Artisan Heart Shaped Disc Cutter is a fast, effective and easy way to create perfectly formed heart shaped discs for your jewellery designs. Ideal for beginners, hobbyists and students, the set features five different sizes of heart shaped dies, each of which will cut soft metal such as silver, gold, brass or copper up to 0.80mm thick. To use the Artisan Heart Shaped Disc Cutter, turn the attached lever to separate the plates. Insert your metal underneath the desired sized hole before turning the lever to re-tighten the plates. Place your chosen die in the hole and strike firmly with a hammer - thicker gauge metals will often need more than one strike. Your heart shaped disc will come out of the bottom of the disc cutter ready to use in your jewellery designs. The five dies in this set will create heart shaped discs measuring 12 x 11.5mm, 15 x 14.5mm, 18 x 17.5mm, 24 x 23.5mm and 25 x 24.5 mm. To keep your disc cutter in good condition, use a lubricant such as Burr Life (998 021) when not in use and, when working, operate the cutter on a rubber block such as 999 7151. For perfectly perpendicular results when cutting small pieces of metal, insert a shim layer of base metal of the same thickness as the metal to be cut into the opposite side of the cutter.
