Beautiful artwork and gripping story, by the end of the first chapter I was ready to order the next book. Highly recommended reading for any graphic novel fan!

Great start to an epic story, sublime art

After spending many years fighting wars on foreign soils, the American government fails to recognise the threat from within. As anti-establishment militias rise across America, war is brought to the streets of America in civil war. A naive photo journalist is dropped into the middle of Manhattan, now known as the DMZ, here he is faced with a choice, escape or stay in the hope of getting the story of a lifetime to the outside world. The only problem is he needs to survive long enough to get the story he needs.I found this well written, fast paced and a gripping scenario to find the lead in. Given the story, the content is brutal and the art work reflects this as our 'hero' scrambles through a city in ruins looking to bring the story of the people who stayed behind to the masses.

Had heard of this graphic novel for years but never got round to reading it, this new deluxe edition was an ideal point for me to start and it was surely worth the wait, if you loved Y the last man, you will love this, great writing and great art read it in one sitting as got so engrossed in it, just received book 2 and cant wait to get into it.

I got This Book From a Bookstore i got to admit i flicked thought this graphic novel just to se what to look forward to and i know its from vertigo Witch in its own right is a great company and i read the First couple of chapters and i got the sense like i was meeting a old friend don't get me wrong i know what your thinking Old friend He say's but iam right its a gem of a graphic novel iam Glad that i got this to add to my collection i only pick the best Novels for this is a true master pice i felt like i was in a war zone i could feel the bullets ricocheting thou my ear's as i turned the pages i felt the Guy pain as he was the last survivor of his ordeal i got a lot to read and i can't wait for my journey to continue as this should not be a 5 Star rated graphic novel it should be a 10 this book is a great find and iam happy to bring this book home but i got to warn you its not for the faint of heart as there is a great deal of blood and stuff so anyway go and by this book

Genuinely one of the best comic series of all time. DMZ is part action comic, part deep, dark satire. I probably wouldn't get this if you're easily offended. The story is great - on an individual-comic level and as an overall arc, and it deals with themes such as nationalism, patriotism, rights and morality in an adult, unpatronising way rarely seen in the medium. The book looks and feels great as well.Buy it - you'll want to buy the next one as soon as you're done.
