Perfect tools for the job
I like that it allows me to grab onto a pipe without causing it to flatten. Well made tools. Very glad I bought them.

The Original!
These are the classic slip-joint pliers. Have been around as long as I can remember and I'm not young. They are still high quality, made in the USA and are still considered to be among the best. I have had several brands of these type pliers, including several versions of Craftsman and although some Craftsman pliers are very good they come and go because they have them made by different manufacturers, and now are hard to come by and the return process is painful if non-existent now. There are a few good ole american manufacturers still out there, Klein is another top brand but they now have some serious competition in the mix. One company that is making serious strides is Tekton, I have a few of their tools and they are very comparable in design and quality at a much lower price. Still happy buying tools made in the USA.

Great tool
If you need a few different sizes of channel locks, this is for you. Great name. I just needed two different sizes for basic house stuff. I thought the price was reasonable. They are a little stiff when you get them, but it only takes one or two uses For them to break in. You can’t beat the quality. 👍

Top Quality, Made in Meadville, Pennsylvania, USA
These pliers are definitely top quality and still made in the USA. I'm a mechanical engineer who has some appreciation of metallurgy, manufacturing techniques, and attention to detail; I am pleased with what I can see for these pliers. Nearly all of the wear surfaces appear to have been forged, including the channels and teeth. This is a good thing: it ensures that the grain structure of the metal as it is compressed in the forging process lines up parallel to the surface rather than exposing vulnerable grain boundaries to stress and corrosion. The steel is well-hardened: I've been using them on and off around the house for a number of projects, including some which have tested my grip strength and left major scarring on steel pipe, nut, and bolt surfaces but have left the pliers still looking brand new. The fastener holding the two sides together fits well, allowing smooth action without binding or feeling loose.I have some Craftsman (made in USA) vice-grip pliers as well, and I actually prefer the Channellock if I have enough room to get a proper grip. Since purchasing the Channellocks, I only bring out the vice-grips in situations where I need two hands in a tight area but only one hand will fit. The quick adjustment and easy grip on the Channellocks, not to mention the wider maximum jaw opening, are highly convenient. I have every expectation that I'll be able to pass these down to my grandchildren some day.

Always reliable
I have several of these pliers not made by Channellock. After a time, they always seem to get sloppy about retaining the settings, even afetr I tighten the pivot. So it's good to get back to using Channellock, which behave perfectly, just as their name suggests.
