Four Seasons of Creative Writing: 1,000 Prompts to Stop Writer's Block (Story Prompts for Journaling, Blogging and Beating Writer's Block Book 1)
N**.
This book is more for teenagers than adults.
I didn't like these prompts. I was under the impression that these were for adults when I downloaded the book, but a lot of the questions seem to be written from the perspective of kids. For example, the summer questions seem to assume that we all take some sort of months long vacation when the weather gets nice. These are weird questions to answer as an adult. For example, one prompt poses a hypothetical drought. It asks what you would do on a typical day if you couldn't play in the pool or run through the sprinklers. As an active, working adult, this question was a little hard to take seriously. I don't spend my summer days running through the sprinklers. Though I do spend more time outside, my day to day life isn't as affected by such seasonal changes because I am no longer going to school. Some other examples include on prompt in which you hypothetically are given a summer job mowing lawns and another in which you set up a lemonade stand with your friends. Maybe its just nit picky but I was looking for a book for an adult to use and it was just too hard to take many of these prompts seriously. I wish more of them had been a little heavier than plots of Brady Bunch episodes. I know I'm supposed to be using my imagination here but maybe they were just too specific at times and it took me out of it? It is a great book of prompts for a teen though and I would recommend its use in the classroom.

Another great addition to the series!
I originally received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.Even though I dabble in creative writing, I find the books from this series much more interesting and useful for journaling with my 13 year old daughter and as I mentioned in my review for one of the other books, they're great for starter topics for my language exchange blogs and chats, since they force me to think on a deeper level than the usual niceties and current events that we would usually talk about. There's enough to keep you writing for a long time in this one, and having it split into seasonal topics is nice.I'd recommend this one especially for journaling with younger/inexperienced writers, the prompts are solid enough give them something to really dig into to write about, unlike a lot of creative writing prompts that can be kind of vague and confusing for someone just starting out.

Amazing Tool! (especially while the muse is away)
for me, someone who loves writing, yet somehow finds themself, quite frequently, locked in a stump of writer's block, this series is invaluable. i love having it available on my mobile. (i use a writing app as well.) i used to carry pen & paper everywhere, for those moments that come out of nowhere. much of my recent progress, in a couple different writing projects, has been due to these prompts & letting them roll around in my head. waiting for that odd moment, like when you're almost asleep... it takes nothing to jot it in the (writing app); just the absolute dedication to not doing anything else on the phone. there is much to be said, positively, about how these prompts can spark the mind, and crack into a creative vein; i highly recommend them to anyone who loves to write, yet finds themselves chasing their muse more often than they're sanity can handle.

Magnificent Prompts
This book has sparked my writing in such a great creative way. I was looking for something to help direct my creative flow so I could get my book writing project from stalled to flowing. I wanted to learn something new that would help me move forward and decrease the doubt that was growing in my mind. I never thought about writing in seasons, and the prompts, although I didn't finish even half of them, broke through the catharsis I was mulling around in for so long. Excellent tool, and I've added it to my resource to use again when I need it.

Incredibly Helpful and Insightful To Help A Beginner Writer.
This is great! I am trying to start a blog and vlogging my life. So I wanted my writing to be creative and I feel immersive. I feel after all the writing that I have done, it is very bland and flat. I want depth and creativity in my words. SO I will be studying this book heavily. The book is huge and will take time to really integrate this into my writing style. I am excited to really try a lot of these out. There is tips for everything from food, weather, animals, plants, science... etc. There is a lot. So get the e-book read it and see how much is actually in this book. It is helpful!

Delivers as promised- Lots of ideas
As promised, this book covers the four seasons of the year that most people experience. It may well contain a thousand prompts as the title describes, but at this point I have not been able to explore it as much as I had hoped to. I felt the prompts were general in nature and could easily be used by anyone, no matter what their life style or the part of the country they lived in. I felt the prompts would be helpful in free writing, and when time permits, I will reexamine the ideas he offers.

Not quite what I was looking for but still a good book.
This book gives you exactly what it says it does. 1000 quotes based around the seasons.I was hoping for some prompts of a more speculative nature, rather than those based on real things. That said this would be a great resource to get kids writing or to help you develop your style if you write more literary fiction.I did enjoy this one though:‘The spring is the season for cheese-rolling in Gloucester, United Kingdom as individuals and teams compete in races to roll wheels of cheese down a hill the fastest. What would you enjoy the most about watching silly people roll cheese down a hill while tumbling themselves? Would you more enjoy watching the people or eating the cheese afterward? Why?’As I live in Gloucestershire I always find it interesting the bits of our little life that make it out into the wider world.

The Most Helpful Book I have Read in a Long Time
I was given this book for free and politely asked if I would review it in return. Bryan, I am delighted to do so. As an avid reader and a very amateur writer who simply enjoys writing short stories, articles on topics of the day, poetry, private thoughts and so on; this book was such a pleasure to read. For me personally I found it inspirational. It excited me! I try to write something daily, be it just a few sentences or an actual short story et al and I confess there are times I just sit and look at a blank page and think "what now?" I want to write but nothing is jumping into my mind. This wonderful little book has lots of "what if?" situations covering many subjects under the umbrella term of the four seasons. The open-ended questions approach generates many situations to gain ideas from no matter what type of writing anyone may be tackling. Just to give you an idea of how impressed I am I have purchased two more of your books Bryan and am eagerly anticipating lots more great ideas and much inspiration to encourage me to keep at it. Thank you and good luck.

Useful for some
Whilst I recognise that this text is aimed at young writers, there were a few ideas which could be adapted for older writers. That being said, a large proportion of the prompts just don't fit well with non-US residents. Also, the majority ideas were prompting readers to think about themselves and/or their families, but not much which easily translates to imagining how a character which is not the self would think, fee!, or do. I've given it three stars because there's some benefit to others, like me, such as motivation to make our own lists of ideas and prompts, which is less about the self and more adaptable for character creation etc. If you're a young, American blogger or do some journaling, then this is a great resource for you.

Inspiration between the lines
I was having a really dry spell creatively when it comes to writing and inspiration for writing and this book helped a lot.Great quality! I couldn't find a scratch on it. And I quite like the cover! And those ideas are just fabulous. Some of them are so simple, and I start wondering why didn't I think of them. But there are some real gold nuggets in there in terms of creativity, tips and topics.
