Just received these; I may have missed it in the description, but while the hooks are metal, the cats are actually a soft rubber. As I purchased these to take on vacation ... 10 of us sharing a vacation rental home, I wanted to make certain everyone has a place to hang a wet bath towel, these will certainly fit the purpose. They are not the strongest metal hook, so if you are planning to use long-term, everyday, you will want to use for lighter items, such a kitchen towels or clothing. I am not certain that they will hold up long-term for use with larger towels that are very wet, but will certainly work for the length of a three-week vacation. Use for lighter-weight items should be no problem.

Love them for in my kids room/closet. I did paint the white cats to make them into a black and white tuxedo cat, but that was just so they matched my pets.
