To give light to a dark drive along apartment building. They work great and not too bright.
They look good and give me sufficient light. Would recommend as long as you are not desiring a lot of light. Not blinding for drive entrance.

Easy Install
I replaced some lantern style garage door lamps with these 13 watt units. I am an extreme novice DIY'er in regards to electric wiring. I had previously installed a 26 watt light with a knockout style back plate by my shop's man door. It was a miserable experience and I had to find and modify a crossbar that would work. These 13 watt units are a very easy install to a normal round lighting gang box as they come with the crossbar. Installation instructions.1. Turn off the light switch and ideally flip the breaker to ensure the circuit is not powered.2. If you have one, remove your old light, remove the crossbar, and twist on wire connectors.3. Unscrew the two screws on the new light holding the crossbar to the back. You can leave the screws in the light as they shouldn't drop out.4. Strip and connect the white and black power wires and the ground with the twist connectors.5. Install the included crossbar so that the outer bar is horizontal and tighten the pivot screws.6. Position the light over the crossbar while stuffing the wires behind the crossbar.7. Install the 2 crossbar screws.8. Check the alignment. If you didn't overtighten the cross bar pivot screws, you can move it slightly if needed.Turn on the power. In daytime you can activate the light by holding your hand over the sensor or placing a piece of electrical tap over it.I think these lights look better on my modern craftsman style house than the latern lights and they certainly give off a lot more light. Because it's in the back of the house, I want a lot of light back there and these lights illuminate well at 30'. 2 x 13 watts is more than enough for this type of application.

Right Amount of Light
I originally purchased a 26 Watt wall pack to replace an old High Pressure Sodium light fixture, that's mounted 14 ft high on the side of my home. That puts out a 250 watt equivalent light output that only uses 50 watts of power. Well that 26 watter was way too bright for my liking and it was lighting up houses across the street over 75 ft.So I purchased a lower 18 Watt LED wall pack and it was just perfect. straight on it'll cast a good amount of light about 50 ft. and to the sides I'll say 35 ft. out.I tested this in my home for a few day to check for operation before mounting it outside also had checked it's watt consumption thru a Kill A Watt Electricity Usage Monitor.. The light draws 16.8 Watt and 0.13 AmpsThere's 25 LEDs mounted on a board which is held by three screws, behind it is thermal paste compound which provides improved heat transfer to the heat-sink underneath. The top part of the housing will reach a temperature of 107 degrees while operating. Four screws on the back which hold a cover plate down, underneath it is a gasket and also the LED driver.Installation was simple, included in the box was 3 wire nuts and a gasket for your existing outlet box.Though I did have a difficult time placing the clear lens on trying to line up the four screws, but I was on a ladder 14Ft. up.I purchased this 3 weeks ago @ $19.08

So far, so good
Gave it 4 stars for 2 reasons; 1. Have no idea about longevity yet and 2. Install could be made easier if more insulation was pre-stripped.Installation was pretty easy, but beware, there is only about 1/2" of insulation stripped off the wires, not nearly enough to attach to the heavy gauge wire used in most U.S. residential homes. You will have to strip more off.Other than that, even with the lights mounted close to the white soffit, they came on at dusk, did not strobe and went off about an hour after sunrise on a cloudy day.
