One of the LEDs failed on the first one but returned and got another. Someone needs to make one with receivers that aren't flush with the body of the unit so the body doesn't block the laser beam.> While the notch at the center point is nice, when you tilt the unit it is hard to use it to make your mark. the body should taper in towards the face so the notch is still accessible when you tilt the unit.

This laser receiver is pretty good. It feels well-made and has a good feel to it. It is simple to use with no hoops to jump through. I used it attached to a 2x4 to set the form height on a concrete pad I was framing up for. Overall, I am pleased with this sensor, and I would buy again. 5 STARS

The unit that I received turns on and I can turn off and turn on the speaker but it does not respond at all to laser. I have five different green pulsing Levels and none of them will register on this receiver. I have a feeling the sensor on it is bad.

Came on time and works great

I was replacing part of a cedar privacy fence today and I finally had a chance to use this laser receiver on the job. I had to match the horizontal supports with the existing fence but there was a large gate between the section I replaced and the boards I had to match. Because I was locating the position of the cross members on the fence posts I wasn’t using the clamp with a measuring stick to read grade.The customer was ecstatic when he looked at the perfectly level and in line boards. Especially after having to look at what used to be a pretty poorly done section of fence for years.The detector is pretty sensitive and moving it quickly while trying to find level was a no go. Take your time once you get close and it works perfectly.

Purchased this to use with my green laser level. Did not realize that usage was limited to lasers with “pulsing” laser function, which both of mine do not accommodate. As for the receiver itself I do think it will fulfill most needs with appropriate sending unit. Method of mounting to a story pole has a wide accommodation for many sizes. Listed as able to work with red or green lasers which would be a plus. Seems to be well built and should be able to cope with most conditions and abuse in the field. Rating I gave is based on fact it does not work with all laser units, and I of course could not fully test it.

It was easy to understand, and easy to use.

Takes 2 penlight batteries (AA). This works exactly like the laser levels I have used.One of the things that often influences my opinion of items like this is the 'feel in the hand' which is hard to quantify but you know it when you feel it. This feels like a descent product. Fit and finish are nice. An example of that 'feel in the hand' is the battery compartment. Its easy to open, inserting the batteries is clean, simple and solid. Closing the battery compartment gives you a positive click. The latch works well. If you use some of the lower end stuff you will immediately see what I am talking about.
