Connected to my QNAP NAS and it worked immediately!
The QNAP NAS that I have recognized my APC UPS in literally seconds, once connected. I didn't have to do anything. All I did was check the defaults of what the shutdown procedure would be, which was 5 minutes after power loss. My UPS will keep the NAS alive for at least 15 minutes, so 5 minutes of power outage is more than enough, before having the NAS shut itself down. Cable is great and its been a few weeks and I've seen no errors or any sort of trouble from the NAS communicating over it.

However unnecessary, this product does work. If you need one, order it.
Its kind of ridiculous APC uses a relatively non standard plug for what seems to be a cheap serial converter.But this product got me talking with a thrift store BE750G, other than the fact it didnt like the 3.0 port i plugged it into first, it fired right up and installed without issue.Currently waiting on a proper battery replacement, have a 12v 2.7ah BB sla plugged into at the moment, seems to charge fine. This BB doesn't have the discharge rate to keep up with a proper load, but itll keep a cell phone charger alive. Tested fine on win 7 with apc software, will try Linux and third party software when battery arrives.

It is low in price but actually works. We will see how they hold up over time, for 2 months they are good.
