Brilliant time (and finger) saver!
Wanted to find a way to mount my Samsung Galaxy S8+ and charge while driving quicker, as I was fed up of the spring loaded finger trap that was my old window mount and USB C cable setup. I was pleased when this item arrived to find the magnets hold very well and the wireless charging is fast. The mount holds my large and heavy phone perfectly and I'm confident that it's not at risk of falling off.Absolutely wish I had purchased this sooner!

Great car holder and fast wireless charger
Great car holder and fast wireless charger! You will need a fast 12v charger to have plugged into the 12V socket for it to work at it's best. The support feels sturdy enough, however, after a couple of months of using it, the part holding the phone had come off. It is made out of 2 pieces, one which is attached to the suction cup on the windshield and the other which connects to the phone. It has been an easy fix though with some superglue. I have placed 3-4 tiny drops of glue on the part that came off and slide it back in. I am really happy with how it performs though it charges at a slower rate than connected to a cable, especially when I use my phone for navigation which is a thing you should expect from a wireless charger.Definitely recommend it!

Long term review: not so good
I bought this charger to hold my Samsung Galaxy Note 8 - a large, heavy, expensive device. The charger comes with a nice, rubberised pad, containing 4 powerful magnets, to stick on the back of your phone and I took great care to clean my phone case with alcohol prior to glueing it in place. The pad is a little bulky but it has rounded edges so I didn't mind the extra 2mm too much. The charger itself attaches to the windscreen really well. I flipped down the catch which sucks the charger to the glass and I literally haven't adjusted it once. All good there. With pad and charger in place, I tentatively held my phone up to try out the magnetic catch. To be honest, I was fully expecting the heavy phone to fall off but, to my surprise, the magnets literally pulled the phone out of my hand towards the charger, snapped the phone in place and held it there very securely. I was very impressed. Even so, I started off being a bit nervous as I drove over any kind of bump, expecting it to lose grip. The charger worked flawlessly. Really, really impressive. In time I developed complete confidence in the magnetic grip. It became second nature to almost throw my phone at the charger as I got in the car, the phone would bleep to tell me it was charging and I was off. No messing around with cables, no adjustment of fiddly cradles, it just worked.Unfortunately this didn't last long. After about 3 weeks of frequent daily use, hopping in and out of the car, one day the inevitable happened - I went over a small bump and the phone crashed down into the foot well. I pulled over, picked it up, and found that one of the magnets had somehow popped out of the rubber pad and was still stuck to the charger. It seems that the strength of the magnets, coupled with the weight of the phone, had proved too much for the adhesive on the back of the rubber pad.I bought some flexible adhesive to glue the pad back in place. The charger was fine again for another couple of weeks but then the same thing happened again, this time with a different magnet/corner of the pad. Again I glued it back down. Now, after another week of use, the adhesive is once again peeling away and I find myself losing all faith in the charger's ability to hold my phone securely.Let's get some things straight: this charger is expensive, especially considering that it doesn't actually come with the power adapter for the cigarette lighter which, if you want a fast charging one, will set you back another £10. The charging speed itself is pretty good and, when it worked, it worked well. But once the charger started to fail in its most basic task of holding my phone securely, I started to realise this was an expensive waste of money. I don't mind paying a bit extra for quality materials but unfortunately this charger is massively let down by the poor adhesive of the rubber pad. Perhaps, on a lighter phone, the adhesive would be sufficient but, on any large, premium phone (and most phones that have built-in wireless charging are indeed large and expensive), this charger isn't up to the job.On a side note: definitely don't get this charger if you have a Note 8. I discovered that the magnets on the pad really mess with the Note 8's stylus - you cannot draw/write/swipe on the area above the magnet as it isn't detected by the phone. This won't be a problem for most phones but it does cause issues on the Note 8.

Not as case friendly as the advert would make out
I have a Samsung Galaxy S8+ in a Spigen thin fit case. The case as a slight recess inside to allow inserting the metal plates that these magnetic mounts use so it can be hidden in the case without spoiling the look of the phone.I've for a while been using a cheap ChargeWorx magnetic mount which had a thin metal plate that, as above, slotted nicely into the case. You couldn't tell it was there at all. The downside was that it blocked any wireless charging signal. After the ChargeWorx mount became a bit loose, I decided to buy a new mount and decided I'd investigate the idea of getting one that includes a charger such as this one. I was a bit skeptical about the wireless charging working considering the metal plate for my previous mount blocked the signal... but the patches included with this mount have a space in the middle that allows the wireless charging to function, so I was pleasently surprised when it did actually work.I'm not convinced that it is fast charge. I paid the extra £2 to get the fast charge variant... and even though I believe my 12v bullet outputs 2.1A, there is no sign from this wireless charger that it is actually fast charge. I have an official Samsung fast wireless charging pad at home that definitely fast charges. The downside of the patches though are that the black one that sticks to the outside of the phone/case is ugly as sin... but to be fair, most of them are. The one that goes on the inside of the case is simply too fat! I'm getting used to it but I'm not overly happy. The advert seems to suggest to use these thin fit cases to allow the signal to transfer through, but the patch is too wide to fully fit inside the recess in the case and would still probably be too fat anyway. My case now bulges in the middle and there is a visible gap between the side buttons on the phone & the case. It means it doesn't sit flat on a table either. With that aside, the mount holds the phone very well. I drive a car on coilover suspension and low profile tyres, so the ride can be quite hard even on some of our smoothest roads... the phone hasn't fallen off yet so that's a good sign.I did have to return the first item I received as the charging port was really loose. I plugged it in and it worked for the first drive of around 10 minutes, but then didn't work again. The cable would move very freely and only worked when pushed right back... but as soon as pressure was released, it stopped working again. I received a replacement same day from Amazon and this one has been working fine. Definitely a lot more solid. May have been a one-off issue, but may suggest some quality control issues.Overall I'm happy with the unit. I just wish the case would sit flat....

Not as good as it looks!
this product is expensive and it did'nt last very long.Got it on the 21 March 2018 and installed it immediately. it worked OK but stopped working today 20th May 2018 (a two whole months). also the adjusting bracket that holds the phone in position fails in the heat and now it does not hold my phone steady.
