Powerful Book
Highly Recommend this book. I found the book somewhat difficult to read in it's early stages as the authors used English 101 to explain concepts. I am, personally, too long out of shchool to keep this stuff straight even though the English vs VBA concepts were very fundamental. The writing initially had me focused on the wrong end of the stick. Non-the-less, reading between the lines, the methods and ideas put forward are powerful and extremely helpful. It is important for the reader to concentrate on understanding the concepts. To do this it may require one to go over the information more than once. Once the concpts are understood, the power of what the authors are saying is there worth so much much more than the price of the book..

Like most desktop applications, not all the code works, dependent on the computing environment.
Like most code that is written in texts. it does not always work. This is one of the complaints of VBA, the code is not 100% portable from one environment to another. But the material covered gives the reader ideas on what can be done with VBA and it pretty easy to find version fixes on many VBA forums out there. It may be a frustrating experience for people new to programming. For that reason I only give it three stars. But most programmers who are going to create desktop application need to know environments change will affect their code and need to be cognizant to have code check the environment and adjust.

This is a great book on VBA coding for Excel
This is a great book on VBA coding for Excel, but only if one is very serious and not looking for a "For Dummies" book. I borrowed it 4 times at the local library and finally bought it. I would give it 5 stars if it presented and taught information, rather than dumping it in the reader. Nevertheless, it had many great, useful examples.

A fine book on advanced Excel topics
I wish I'd found this book sooner. It is very clearly and authoritatively written about various advanced topics. There is a thorough discussion of the "Advanced Filter" feature and also of user forms. Examples were carefully selected to illustrate various features without using an excessive amount of data to clutter things. However, just from the title, it should be expected that this book is not intended for those with little or no prior knowledge of spreadsheets and Excel. This book has been more useful to me than one with "Bible" in its title.

Finally Found The Book I was looking for.
I have been writing Excel macro's for years, but all my ability and knowledge was self learned the hard way. I could never find a book or manual to answer my questions. The help function was almost useless, expecting you to pretty much know the answer to the question already. Then I found this book. It was all that I have been looking. This really answers my needs. I highly recommend this book, if your like me and want answers toyour Excel Macro/VBA questions.

Great Self learning Book!!
This 5 starts is for Amazon for delivering 2 weeks ahead of the expected arrival date.Thank you. I have hit chapter 2 and the explanations are concise.I love the way the object reference is being introduced. This book is probably not to be read singly by a newbie; It doesn't start expalining what a variable is..et cetera, but hits the ground running. This appears perfect for self learning. The trick is to quality coding is not reading..it is practice..practice..practice.I recommend this book for excel programming.

Great book...
I used this book and one other book to learn macros. I needed both of them because one book took you out to sea and the other book gave you an anchor to explain what you were doing out at sea. I can't remember which was which. I believe this book gave great examples. Honestly it took two authors to explain it one was not sufficient. But with the book I did accomplish my task.

Highly recomended for experts.
You won't find a more advanced book out there. There are books as good as this one, but this is for expert level users only while the others will be useful for intermediate or beginners. There is a lot of good stuff on the web but this brings together a lot valuable examples that you do not need to hunt for

EXCELent book, lot's of good information, still learning from it.
Haven't got through the main part yet but the examples, tips and tricks have already helped in my endeavours and already reduced the amount of coding I use compared to my previous VBA programming. It made me realise that I was previously reinventing the wheel and not taking advantage of simple resolutions and built in functionality. The advice is simple for the most part and very informative. I no longer format cells using the ribbon and have taken to formatting in VBA which is dynamic, in that the formatting is done on the fly dependant on cell content and number of cells occupied, and is instant rather than an after thought once the data are inserted. The tips on colour and shading, dependent on cell value make data stand out better. I realise that the books contents reveal more than just these items but for what i have learned thus far from the book, I am grateful.

A good reference book
A reasonably good book that I picked up some good tips and tricks from. I have a very good understanding of Excel VBA and this book helped me understand some of the new 2013 features. It lacked some detailed explanations around the sample macros that may impact readers with less experience in VBA. This solution is to seek out web sites that explain the methods and features used in the examples.A download site for the samples would also help to avoid a lot of typing

The authors clearly showed great effort to teach VBA
The authors clearly showed great effort to teach VBA. But the book is not well structured, and the examples are not very 'friendly' for learners to quickly grasp the concept or application. The book is overly focused on advanced techniques and missed a lot of basic concepts. In general, it is not suitable for beginners who need a better book to guide them through.

Excellent book that explains how and why to write efficient code
Excellent book that explains how and why to write efficient codeOnly 120 pages in, will update once I finish it.Posting review now as it has taken a while to find the sample code, and thought best to share the information now.Minus 1 star for not showing the reader where to obtain the sample VBA code. For VBA sample code refer to this link:[...]

Good read
As per normal MrExcel delivers a good introduction into the realm of Macros and VBa. This is the ebook version still trying to decide if it is better to get the actual book to flick through to find what you need.
