Almost perfect
Except for the charcoal basket which perishes after a couple years, it's the perfect potable grill.

Excellent but not durable
Compact quick to start and you don't use loads of charcoal great for about 3/4 people or 2/3 big eaters arrived early ๐๐๐ after one summer mesh charcoal centre holder has perished can't find a replacement ๐ฅโน๏ธ

Ok, good value BBQ
It`s okay, The instruction sheet is a bit limited in detail in respect to what fuel to use also the use of igniter gel. I used charcoal briquettes initially and assumed the gel was put in the dish under the charcoal basket, not sure if that works well or just apply gel to the fuel.My first attempt was not that successful in that it took some 25 mins before it was hot enough to cook with.An email to the supplier revealed it`s ok to use any type of charcoal medium but no further info regards gel. Quite easy to clean in a dish washer, the various components, also the outer case is cool when being used.

Great portable BBQ - but not durable - lasted one season
Basically a design based on more established brand with similar features but at a more reasonable price. But now I question if there is a reason it was a lot cheaper than those. Charcoal holder has disintegrated after 1 year. I see one of the other reviewers has the same problem. So would have to say buy a different brand. As for the concept, was sceptical a charcoal based BBQ could really fire up as quickly as was said. But it does. The fan assist really does get it going very quickly. So it consumes very little charcoal. Even filling the charcoal container gives a burn time a lot longer than needed to cook the food.I use alcohol based solid fuel tablets cut up rather than a lighter gel.The grill is cleanable in dishwasher and really that is the only part that needs to be cleaned. Even some will simply rely on food residue getting burnt off next time. You could clean the bowl but that is more awkward as has to be done manually. Maybe the solution is to line the bowl with silver foil and then replace that. I may simply clean it occasionally if it starts to get a bit too greasy and oily.Being only 30cm tall then you need to think where to put it but it does not get hot to touch and does not drip hot fat or cinders and so you could put it on a table top.Seems to have a very sharp edge somewhere in the clamping mechanism that holds the grill plate in place. Not sure exactly where but got a cut while putting the grill plate off and on.UPDATE. 1 year on. Had a fantastic first season with sweltering summer. Must have used it 20 times. Came to use it for first BBQ of the current season and found that the wire cage holding the charcoal disintegrates if you touch it. Canโt see getting a replacement part will be feasible. Can't really justify replacing the entire BBQ each year.

Very good - once you've tried a couple of times!
This is a good quick and (sometimes!) easy to use BBQ.It can be a little awkward to light, if there's a wind blowing, so as well as the BBQ gel, on the tray, squirt some on the LUMPWOOD charcoal pieces, as you fill the mesh container, to give the flames chance to spread.Use one of the gas lighters, that produce a hot small flame (almost like a blowlamp) and you should get ignition!Be careful how you position the basket of coals, so that you don't get burned and ensure that it is set over the hole, to ensure that the air can get through.Don't forget to replace the small lid on the top of the mesh container, with the coals.Turn up the blower and you should be ready to start cooking, in about five minutes. If you try to cook on maximum heat, you will under-cook and also burn your food, so turn the fan to about half (โsuck it and seeโ) and you should have success.I like a bit of smoke โ to flavour the food, so I drilled a few holes, in the centre of the grill top (cost me a few drills โ stainless steel) and find it to be really good at imparting that smokey flavour, as the fats drop down onto the coals basket! The batteries will last for several BBQ sessions, before needing replacing โ but you can't replace them partway through a cooking session โ so plan ahead.Others have commented on the feeble nature of the mesh basket and I anticipate needing a trip to B&Q or a look on eBay, for some SS mesh to replace it. Doesn't look to be much of a job.In summary โ a good little device for cooking for 2-4 people, with a wait between courses โ sausages, burgers, steaks, just limited by the size of the cooking space. Don't use briquettes - you will struggle to light them! These CANNOT and MUST NOT be used indoors! Carbon Monoxide is a killer!
