I bought this lamp to replace a very old one which was on our house when we bought it, and even though it’s never really used and pretty much ornamental, it was easier to replace the whole lamp rather than deal with unwanted wiring sticking out of the wall.When I purchased this Lamp, going by the online pictures I thought that it had been supplied with a missing piece. Namely a “Plate” or “Filler” for the section below the glass. However, it appears that the bottom of this Lamp is completely open, which to me is a design flaw allowing free access to all Spiders and Flies. I solved this by removing the base (just four small screws) and using the lid of an unwanted CD case, I cut-out an Octagon shape and drilled four holes for the screws to pass through, then reassembled using a small amount of sealant on the outside groove to finish off. Once in place, the CD lid is impossible to see and yet still allows light to shine downward. Job done! One nice spider and fly proof lamp. Timewise, it took barely an hour for the whole thing.The Lamp looks very nice in place and I can understand why they sell over 100 of these every day, but one final thing to note: the so-called “Glass” is actually Polycarbonate so if you want real glass in your Lamp, you need to look elsewhere.

I purchased two of these lights for each side of the double garage. They LOOK exactly like the ones I have had for the last 18 years but they are much smaller but didn't look it in the picture so a little disappointed.However they work fine and arrived quickly .

Quite different to the usual traditional Victorian carriage effect lights that are available. This looks beautiful but it isn't a PIR so an additional sensor had to be purchased. Don't regret my purchase as it looks stunning
