Real Filament 8719128324807 Real PLA, Spool of 1 kg, 1.75 mm, Black

I have been using Real filament PLA for a couple of years. The latest reel of black PLA I bought wasn't vacuum sealed and came in a cardboard reel instead of the old plastic ones. Initially, the prints came out pretty good, but very quickly the PLA started to clog the nozzle of my Ender 3. Cleaned out the nozzle a couple of times but the filament is still not printing right. Tried printing at different temps from 185 to 210, nothing really worked. Clean it out again and tried a different filament and my Ender 3 is working perfectly again.....A bit disappointed with this purchase. I think I will give Real filament one more before switching to another brand.

This is great PLA imo it works well at lower temps, comes on a clear spool so you can see how much of the filament is left and there are plenty of points on the spool to secure the filament when not being used. I'm using it with my Wanhao i3 plus. Temps 198/65 with a glass bed or 195/0 without. The black colour is very dark unlike some other brands I've used. I recommend this PLA and will be buying more.Edit. I have lowered my rating to 3 due to the fact that now I am less than half way through the roll and it keeps clogging my extruder. At first I thought it was a retraction setting that was to high but soon found out it is the diameter of the filament that is inconsistent. I will order another roll at some point just in case I got a bad roll.

I started 3d printing with a printer I inherited as it was dropped off at a local school and wasn't working. The teacher I work with as a volunteer said if I could get it working, I could have it (they had multiple printers already in the classroom). Real Filament was one of the first brands of filaments I bought (started with PLA). I've tried a few brands of PLA and PETG now, and am extremely satisfied with Real Filament's PLA and PETG. I've got no negative comments about them.

I havent had any issues with spooling or with diameter. Has a kind of shiny appearance however be warned the appearance changes if the filament does not have cold air directly over it, so I found with a fan on one side that my parts were half shiny / half matt.

Decent enough filament. Has now taken spot as my second choice filament after PrimaValue for generic prints.
