My favorite G2 size refill
The Fisher Space Pen dominates Parker-style refills. But once upon a time I ran across a Parker-style refill called the Schmidt Easyflow 9000. And it was awesome. Incredibly smooth, the ink effortlessly flows onto the page. Being a lefty, that was even more important as left-handers tend to have to push the tip of the pen across the page instead of dragging it like righties do.But alas, the Easyflow 9000 does not come in a fine point version, only medium. And I prefer fine point. Then you have the Pilot G2-sized refills. These are a little different than Parker-style, most notably they are a bit longer. Most (but not all) pens only accept one or the other. One of my pens that uses G2 was delivered using the Schmidt 5888 refill. And you know what? It writes just like the Easyflow 9000 only with a fine point! Perfect! So it has now become my go-to G2 refill. Another bonus is it won't dry out so you can use it in uncapped (twist / click / bolt action) pens with no worries. I've had no problems with leaks either.Note that the 5888 has a metal tube housing. Schmidt also offers the same refill in a plastic tube housing under the model #888 (no preceding 5). Personally I prefer metal but that's just me.For Parker-style I'm still having to use fine point space pen refills but for Pilot G2, this is my perfect refill.

A great rollerball refill for a small bit of scratch.
So I have a drawer full of "nice" pens that I have been given at various conferences and meetings as gifts. The problem was they often look and feel good, but have crummy ink cartridges that write terribly, or they are dried out even when I first get them! I decided to resurrect many of them as I wanted to mix things up from by usual go-to pen, the Mont Blanc Meisterstuck rollerball. The MB is great but the refills are $6! and don't last all that long. So I did some googling and came up with the Schmidt 5888 refill as being highly regarded in the pen idiot savant forums. I decided to take the plunge on a refill that was 1/2 the price of the MB refills. They arrived quickly and on time. Then refills fit my pen bodies perfectly and write very well. With the ceramic ball they have a feel very close to Mont Blanc refills. These are made in Germany, the MB are made in Japan so not likely the same company. MB may use ceramic (popular in Japanese pens) or tungsten, I don't know.Very happy for now.

I love their fine point and the pen I use it on. It is quick drying, no smearing, everything the description says is true. I would highly recommend these refills for your pens.
