The mug got great lid! I tried different ceramic coffee mugs with lids. Many of the lids won't seal well so that if you try to drink with the lid on, it leaks (yes coffee stains on clothes), therefore one has to take off the lid to drink. The lid for this mug is great! No problem drinking through it.The design of the mug is lovely. However it feel rather "ceramic" and unfinished- not as polished as some other ceramic mugs are. And the inside is white. Not sure how well it can sustain coffee stains. Wish at least the inside is more polished thus likely more strain-resistant. I'll update after I use it a while.Update after weeks of use: the inside doesn't stain any more easily than the mugs with glossy inside! I actually figured out that it was because the inside is not glossy, the lid seals tightly.

My home has two coffee addicts and one here-to-fore non coffee drinker (that would be me). My coffee guys like large mugs with spacious handles. They are also not averse to drinking coffee from a good looking mug.My husband (God bless him) buys ugly coffee mugs when he travels without me. He insists every coffee mug he buys must be stored in the kitchen coffee mug cabinet. Then he never uses the ugly mugs he buys. They take up space because he bought them but no one ever chooses to use them. Sigh. What's a wife to do? This is not a divorcing issue! Just a minor annoyance that irritates me every time I open that cabinet.As happens on occasion, the mugs that are used most frequently have accidents and get broken. They cannot be replaced with a duplicate mug because they are usually no longer being sold any more by the time one breaks. Also, my goal is that all our mugs be different; no two alike. So we have had some breakage recently of the bigger mugs (but not a single ugly mug). So new large mugs were needed. This is one I purchase. I like this mug. It is sturdy. It has turtles on it. (I love turtles.) It is large, holding the right amount of coffee for my guys. I bought two other designs also (three mugs in total). The guys are choosing the mugs so they are happy too with the decorative aspects and the size.Recently, on a road trip, in order to stay alert while driving on interstates through monotonous landscapes, I purchased iced mochas to keep me alert (actually, not being used to any coffee at all, I was not just alert but wired). When we got home from this over a week long vacation, I went into iced mocha withdrawal. I made one for myself using this turtle mug which is the perfect size (room for coffee, ice, milk, and chocolate syrup).Yup, this mug is the perfect size for all coffee drinkers in my home.

The lid does not fit snugly. If I try to drink out of the cup with the lid on, my hot tea spills all over me. I bought a similar cup from a different seller. The lid was perfect, and I never had a problem with it. I'll buy my next cups from that seller in the future.

I purchase five of these tall mugs. We love them. They are well made and lovely colorful birds are depicted. It adds so much to drinking my morning coffee. The cup has shape and handle that makes it very comfortable to hold and hand to another person. These would make a lovely gift for anyone! I'm so glad I'm keeping them!

The ceramic part is very pretty. The top looks a little junky but I am happy with the ceramic part.
