Understanding how the product works and how to use it is very important. Additionally, the crack to be repaired must be prepped prior to applying this product.The crack I repaired was approximately 5 to 6 feet long and a little wider than what you see in some videos, it's all about volume! The material provided will seal a crack approximately 8 to 10 feet long. Understanding this gives you some idea of how many of these you'll need to order and the approximate cost.Hot Seal comes as a round chunk of tar material wrapped in cellophane witch is impossible to remove until the material is completely melted.The first challenge is to fully melt the material. I put the entire chunk in a 1 gallon metal paint bucket I purchased at a local hardware store then placed it directly on a wood stove I have in my garage. Although this took a good 30 minutes or so, the block did melt completely. I allowed the material to heat until it was uniformly thin enough to pour.I bent one side of the steel bucket forming a pouring spout. This allowed the product to pour accurately filling the crack. The hot material poured easily and it's actual application was very easy. Overfilling the crack is also important to note. If you fill it to near the top of the crack it does shrink slightly as it cools leaving a slight depression.The material cools rapidly and sets up in no time so move quickly!!It's a tricky product to use because you are responsible for its application so as I said, having a plan and source to melt it is paramount to it's success. It is possible for a homeowner to save some money rather than have a company come in and perform the same task but it will take some time and effort on your part.

I have a large driveway, so I invested into this product some money. Not much fix could be done out of one box. So it is expensive.I did fix all cracks. Will see after the winter. I will update.Update:It is not working. Is December 2017 and this stuff already cracked. Waste of money. From 3 stars to one.
