Great smoker grill
The grill came packaged very well.. easy to read assembly instructions.. step by step instructions to assemble grill made it easy.. Operation instructions leave much to be desired ...instructions should include sequence of operation on how to properly operate the grill... Good quality made product...

Z Grills are a a bit above other pellet grills
This grill works excellently to cook your food. The temperature probe connection is a great asset when cooking things like prime rib, filet mignon, chicken, and other thick meats. The pellets flow through nicely and once set up, it keeps the temperature right where you want it. It is a bit more costly, but compared to what it does to the flavor of your food; it is definitely worth the price. Customer service is excellent with contacting you and answering your questions and how often do you have a grill with a warranty??? Exactly, so Z Grill is one of the better pellet grills and you will be surprised by how many people you see with different varieties of their grills. Give it a try and you will be pleasing many with the flavor and moistness of your food.

Great Smoker for a 1st Timer
My first smoker! Was an easy set up, covers decent, probs tend to be fairly accurate so far. All my cooks have been very well received. Highly recommended!

This would be a 5 star except for two things
This is a very heavy duty pellet smoker. Even the lid is thick and solid so it doesn't bend when you open it. It took a little bit to assemble but it was not terrible. After looking at many other smokers which were much more expensive, we decided on this model. We like the size because for my wife and I it just right. We really bought it because we enjoy smoke beef brisket and it does a great job cooking it.It came with a very thick cover and also has 2 temperature probes that we use each time. I love that it has a digital screen that is easy to read from far away. The 2 things I wish would be different is the probes are not wifi with an app that I could read on my phone without having to go to the smoker to look, especially at night if it is a long smoking time. I often wake up from bed to go and check it.Also the feeder that feeds the pellets into the heater is a little louder than I would like. It sounds like a loud sewing machine when it feeds the pellets. I wrote to ZGrills and they gave me many things to try but it still sounds the same. My friends Traeger is much quieter than mine, even though ZGrill makes many of the parts for Traeger. But other than that it is a heavy well built smoker that should last for years.

Meet my new all-in-one
I was a little skeptical at first, but this unit performs exactly as advertised. I've used it to smoke briskets, turkey breasts, ribeyes, and anything else I can find. I've also used it to grill hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken breasts, and steaks. The high temperature setting goes to about 445° which was plenty to sear it good. That's the good side. The bad side is that the burn cup/chamber has to be cleaned after every use, and there's no convenient way to do that. The cup doesn't come out, and there's no way to access it without taking out the grate and dripping plate which are covered in grease from cooking. Then you have to somehow get into the cup to clean it. I used wet paper towels to cling onto the ash, I've also used a leaf blower to blow the cup clean (don't try it unless you want to get covered in ash), and I've remove3d the lid hinge pins, held the hopper cover closed with my thumb, and flipped the unit upside down and tapped it on the table to get the ash to fall out. None of these are convenient or fully useful. Another down side is that I can't switch pellets for different smoking jobs. If I use hickory for a job, and then want to use apple wood the next time, there's no way to remove the pellets from the feed screw cylinder. The best you can do is flip it over to empty the hopper (all over the floor) and then run the unit until the screw drive is empty. I'm going to have to figure out a better way to do it, since this isn't working. Side note: Do NOT try to clean the inside of the lid with oven cleaner. It strips the paint off. Mine was covered in dripping grease and smoke from normal use, and before packing it into my RV, I wanted to clean it, so I removed the lid, grate and drip pan and applied some spray oven cleaner. It stripped the paint from the lid, worked well on the grate, and helped the drip pan rust when it was rinsed and allowed to dry. I'm hoping in future generations of grill there might be a way to remove the crucible/burn cup for cleaning and some way to remove the drive screw to remove unused pellets for the next cook. Would I buy it again? Absolutely. I love smoked brisket, and the portability makes it perfect for an RVer. If they ever fix the aforementioned issues, I'd gladly purchase the new model.

Great grill until it starts turning itself on while off
The media could not be loaded. I received this grill July 30, a couple weeks ago the grill started turning itself on randomly to the smoke setting while the knob is off. Only a minor inconvenience to unplug when not in use. And was able to use it a couple more times like this. Now the grill displays Er2 when it's plugged in and knob is off. The error does not clear with their troubleshooting. Clearly defective control units. So far not impressed with their customer support either... chat is always offline, no one answers their phone, see how long they take to email me back. Very disappointed with this because I really love cooking on it, the size is great for camping and will run off my 110v solar battery.Update 10/9/24Their customer service is a frecking joke... they contacted me and initially offered to send a new control board.. even sent a video from their "engineers" on how to possibly clear the problem. Which didn't work. That was 2 weeks ago. Haven't received any further communication or parts to fix their product. Waste of money on their fancy scrap metal.

Smoker works great
This smoker works great. We have smoked all kinds of meat on it including the Thanksgiving turkey and Christmas ham. It even did well keeping its temperature at Christmas in 40° weather with cold rain. I just wish the cooking area was a little bigger, but that’s on me. I should have gotten the next biggest size. Had to spatchcock the Turkey so it would fit (17 pounds) and trim some meat off the ham (12 pounds). Wish there was an easy way to clean out the ash.
