Locked Hearts: Society of the Locked Souls Book One

A trauma inducing, unputdownable, unpredictable read
This book is pure trauma. The trauma I have become well acquainted with reading Jenn Bullard and Amber Nicole books.Chastity our FMC raised in a religious family only to be used, abused, and disregarded by those close to her.I'm hoping to find some solace in the Holy Cross academy run by her Grandmother. Holy Cross isn't what she expected, and the warmth of her memories of the academy is all she has.But in the chaos, there is Bastien, Jonas, and Ash that make her feel normal, and Father Levi is waking up the woman in her. These 4 guys give her hop after all the pain. With Tempest gone. Things go from bareable to absolute heart shattering...The revelations, the trauma, the find, the cliffhanger....Please read trigger warnings as this is a dark secret society RH with virgin MMC's and religious connotations.Highly recommended read and authors.

Fantastic new series
After reading this I can really believe that religion is the root of all evil. Poor Chastity, our FMC, persecuted for sins committed against her by her family of religious zealots. She has PTSD and is close to a breakdown at the cruel punishments wreaked on her as repentance. I feel so sorry for her, especially as she’s picked on by all the mean girls as if she doesn’t have enough to cope with.We also have a secret society at the Holy Cross Academy Chastity gets sent too.The Adam and Eve aspects of this society are sounding intriguing, want to find out more. Can Chastity be the girl they’re waiting for?Love the guys, Levi is certainly a wicked pseudo priest. Hopefully her relationship will keep developing past friendship with the rest of them. That cliffhanger ending tho, hoping everything improves for her in the next book,

Fab start to series
Wow!u couldn’t put my this book down. It’s fast paced full of secrets, drama and twists, it’s best to go in blind if you have no triggers but it’s not for the faint of heart. Never a dull moment and your emotions will be all over the place ! Chastity is a complex vulnerable character who’s had to endure quite bit and continues to do so at the academy she is sent to after some tragic events. I can’t say too much without giving it away. But know it’s a well written why choose romance with secret society vibes. The cliffhanger! Loved it

Dark, Raw and Gritty!
*Why Choose*Contemporary*Multi-POV*very dark*Catholic Academy*Secret Society*established harem (4)*inc MM & some FF*mid burn 🔥*insta-attractions*damaged FMC*1/3Please be mindful reading this book there are some severe triggers (will list at bottom of review if you don’t want to know!)Chastity is sent to the Catholic academy ran by her grandmother after her indiscretions that have blighted her family and own reputation….yet you soon pick up that there is far more to this story than what is being said! All chastity wants is the chance to give her side of the story 😥Upon arrival at the academy she attracts the individual attention of Bast, Ash and Jonas - all of whom are at the academy for their own reasons!! Bast and Jonas are actual gems and you find more about their backstories as we got through this but Ash 😡😡😡 honestly that man needs some serious 👊🏻👊🏻 no matter what his intentions are!Let’s not forget Levi who despite his forced actions is slowly gaining Chastity’s trust and they have atria connection blooming 🥰Everybody recognises Chastity’s innocence and pure nature and it draws people in like moth to the flame🔥which it certainly leads to 🌶️🌶️Yet there seems to be some ulterior motives as to why Chastity is at the academy along with the boys….As peoples secrets come to life it breaks more than a few hearts and potentially has irreparable damage…those last few chapters are seriously intense and shocking!!Looking forward to the next one even if I need to mentally prepare 🙈Triggers (some of these maybe spoilers)-Familial abuse-R*pe-self-h*rm-self-unaliving attempt-antiquated punishments-taking of baby-severe bullying-violence

Utterly amazing
This book was utterly amazing, I could not put this book down. There are triggers galore in this book but if you are not someone who is easily triggered you are best off going in blind it makes for a more interesting read. That cliffhanger was the worst ever. This book had me hooked from the beginning, and I am so gobsmacked with how it ended. Amber is the queen of cliffhangers i am new to Jenn but after this book she is definitely added to my new favourite list. These two are evil, I can hear the cackles from here. I need the next book now.

Fabulous first book of this series.
So now I have to sit on my hands and wait for the second book. This was my first Amber Nicole book, co written with Jenn Bullard.Well written, I had clear images of what everyone looked like and all I have felt is anger for poor Chastity. She has been placed with Holy Cross Academy to repent her sins. What those sins are aren’t divulged with her tutor, Father Levi. He has strict instructions by Mother superior, Chastity’s grandmother who runs the Academy, they’re cruel and archaic.Chastity is kept away from everyone else in her grandmothers apartment until she can prove she has learnt to behave. But what will become of her? The lads are all pulled in by her presence but they don’t know any of her story and why she has been through.Absolute cliffhanger at the end and now I have to wait months for the next book. I can’t wait! This book was so much more than I thought it would be.

Locked Hearts was EXCELLENT!
Locked Hearts, book 1 of the Society of the Locked Souls series by Amber Nicole @ambernicoleauthor & Jenn Bullard @author.jenn.bullard. Read the trigger warnings! This was an excellent book about Chasity, as she gets to know Ash, Levi, Bast, & Jonas. If you like RH, a tiny bit of FF, MM, Catholic Academy (University), a fake priest, a secret society, & an abused FMC by her family. 😭This was very hard to read due to the very heavy bullying (not directly by a harem member, but it could have been prevented by a member), & in addition, it is very difficult for me personally due to the rape of the FMC prior to the book officially starting. 😳

Trufully 4.5 stars
I really love this story! It's different than your usual secret society, Reverse harem, religious, high school books. It's a refreshing feel and I'm all for it!My only issue is the further you get into the story the harder it is to follow. Like there are just some gaps and it doesn't always quite make sense, like some of it was missed in the editing process. But still loved it.

What a ride
This is one of the first books I’ve read in a long time that has made me tear up. I don’t think I have ever wanted to reach through a book and just hold someone as much as I do for Chasity. The MMCs reactions to Chasity’s story were so heart wrenching, I can still feel it in my chest. There were some grammatical errors and chunky telling vs showing bits, but overall decent writing. I’m impressed that the writing managed to convey Chasity’s traumas without it feeling like it was just done for shock value or something, if that makes sense. Sometimes things just feel thrown in to be sensational, but that doesn’t feel like the case here, even with such a brutal subject matter. I’m so confused about the stupid Society and what its point is, it’s literally driving me nuts and I’m struggling to fully respect the MMC’s because of it. Heartbreaking book, so mentally prepared yourselves before reading and keep something with you to hold on to so that you don’t scream or throw your device out the window.
