Q: If i use the watercolor shampoo is it necessary to use the base drops as well?

I don’t & I’m still pleased with the results.

Q: What is the difference between the base drops and the shampoo?

I never used based drops, but watercolors hold the color in, especially if you have golden highlights, red hair. You can soak it in, rinse with cool water, colder if you can. It will not rinse out if you utilize colder water. Then rinse a bit warmer once the cold hit the head. I have used watercolors for over 10 years plus I believe. I love it!!!! But never used base drops, that'll be next so i can compare the 2.

I have only used the watercolor shampoo of which I am fond.

Q: Does the purple fade to a green-blue or lavender?

It's been awhile since I used this product but I do recall how much I liked it. I don't remember any fading, especially no blue/green color. If it faded it must've been within a purple/red range. Hope that helps.
