This jacket is heavy, which is what wanted for motorcycle riding.
Leather is a little stiff but with some wear it should be just fine. Jacket is to heavy for summertime riding but it sure felt good when temperatures dropped below 50 and that was without the liner.I would recommend this jacket to any one that rides could keep you from serious road rash the leather is that heavy.

Very functional heavy riding jacket.
For the price I'm surprised at just how good this jacket is. It was a little stiff when I got it but it has worn in nicely, and the edges of the leather along the stitches are a little rough, although the stitching itself is fine. The leather is very thick and seems tough, plus it has additional armor in places like the elbows which adds protection without making it too rigid. The fit is great, I'm a fairly stocky 5'7 210lbs guy, I have broad shoulders and a large chest and this jacket fits me like a riding jacket should, snug but not tight, very comfortable. The side pockets are a little small, not great for putting your hands in, especially with gloves on, but it does have plenty of pockets and space for things plus pockets within pockets in the front, which can be accessed without unzipping your the jacket and double as vents (double zippers, first opens the vent, second opens the enormous pockets) plus equally large front pockets inside the jacket, plus one smaller one on the right side with a hole you can run wires through. Overall it's very function and I'm very confident it will provide good protection if I ever meet pavement. It has a removable lightly insulating liner (vest like - doesn't extend down the arms) and vents on the chest, back, and arms. It also has zippers on the inside providing access between the lining and leather shell for easy repairs. I have never used it in really hot weather, but it did well on the warmer days I used it on and seems like it will work alright in the heat. It definitely works well in the cold. It's not really a purpose built cold weather jacked, the insulated liner is thin and doesn't cover the arms, the vents leak a little when closed (which is kind of expected) the very top of the front vents are only closed with a buttoned flap, it doesn't let a lot of air in but on a really cold day it's enough... however, with some layers (a regular long sleeve shirt and a denim button shirt over that) I was able to ride in 32 degree weather and my body and arms stayed relatively comfortable.

Good Jacket but Buyer Warning
First off I really do like the jacket. It is made of heavy duty leather that feels and looks great. It is a heavy (weight) jacket. The "armor" for me personally is holding in the right position and does not give me any issues. I only know its there when I touch it. The venting on the jacket is amazing!!! I rode in 82°F and I could feel the breeze going down my arms, across my chest, and around to my back. Kept me nice and cool for the 50 miles I rode that day. That said, once you come to a stop you get hot quickly if in direct sunlight.Warnings:1 - The jacket sizing is totally off. Based on my measurements I should have purchased a Small. I purchased a Large (two sizes up) and it fits snug. Not uncomfortable tight....just right. Sleeve length is good as well when arms are stretched out on handles. I am 5'9", 163lbs. No six pack but not a gut either.2 - The jacket shows that it comes with (x3) zippers on the inside for adding patches. The jacket did not come with any zippers on the inside. I reached out to the seller and they stated the jackets do not come with these zippers that the image should not be on the page showing they do.3 - The front hand pockets are extremely small. If I ball up my fist I can just barely fit my hand in them. They are pretty much useless.

Xelement Retro Brown Bandit Buffalo Leather Jacket
OK. So firstly, I don't write a lot of reviews though I do purchase quite a bit from Amazon. I've been looking for a leather MC jacket for a few months now and decided that 2 criteria were most important to me (1) vintage/retro. I didn't want that old (in spirit) Harley dude or the yuppie/hipster that just got a leather jacket. I wanted something with a Cafe Racer 50's/60's feel/look that and that didn't look idiotic in bright yellow/green that you see a lot of wanna be's riding around wearing usually on Jap sports bikes (2) price/value. I was originally leaning towards a Dainese Ducati type jacket, an AlpineStars Velocity or an Icon Daytona Flattrack retro all of which are immensely nice leathers. However, each one of the above three are minimum lf $450 - $500 and up depending on sub-style. I've been spending a lot of MC accessories (and bikes - hee hee) and have a mortage, 3 cars and 2 kids. I needed a really nice 3.5 season jacket on a relative budget and though it unwise at this juncture to drop 5 C-notes on a leather jacket. I also own a perfectly functional Joe Rocket textile 4-season jacket that works great but that I really no longer like the look of.Anyway, on to the jacket itself. There are a lot of reviews of this particular jacket as well as it's variants on Leatherup.com from which this jacket I believe got funneled to Amazon. I read most of them. I've never bought this type of product, let a alone most clothing off the interwebs for obvious reasons - fitment, not able to see/touch/smell, blaa blaa blaa. I pulled the trigger. As you can read on the various Leatherup reviews, I believe this is likely THE BEST VALUE in a jacket you can receive price vs. what you get! It's a HEAVY jacket which is fine by me. The leather is not quite 1.2 - 1.4mm as some of the above mentioned jackets are but it is substantially thick. It looks vintage in design, fit, and leather finish right out of the box - whoo hoo! Just what I envisioned. I'm sure it will look even better after a few months/years of being broken in. Again, for the money, I'm am astoundingly pleased with my purchase despite my initial hesitations about a Tier-2 manufacturer/vendor in this segment.Fitment. Perfect! Lots of the Leatherup reviews claim that you should order a size up. I completely disagree. I've normally worn an XL in most jackets but they have a loose fit which I've grown to dislike. I weigh 185, am 6'00", a 42inch chest, and work out religiously - meaning: I have an athletic v-build. I only mention this in terms of fitment and some of what you'll read out there about it with this jacket. I bought LARGE and it fits perfectly! It's not snug but not loose. I can easily fit a sweater underneath for extra warmth and still move freely when zipped. In low 40'ish weather in NYC so far, it's kept me nicely comfortable even at highway speeds.Complaints: Few. My only beefs are (1) that the little dangly leather strips attached to the zippers look cheap. I'll be getting rid of them probably. They're there to assist in zipping with gloves on I imagine. I just dislike they way they look (2) there is no back CE protector - only shoulders and elbows. Oh well. Somewhat minor points.Overall, I've yet to come across a better value on the market for leather MC's.=)
