This case is perfect for my Apply super drive. It provides good protection and is easy to pack in my laptop case.

I wanted to have some rugged cases to hold and transport my external USB DVD players for my old systems, if the internal drive breaks and is hard or expensive to replace.These fit the bill better than other cases I tried at a reasonable price. They're rugged, secure, have extra compartments/webbing for things like USB cords, DVD's, documents, etc. The zipper seems well made and works well. There is a nice little carrying strap that can be secured to a ring on the zipper with a lobster claw.I bought several of these, and they've consistently been good. I can't speak to long term durability, but I like them better than other similar cases I tried. This case seems more durable, more roomy without being overly bulky. Has MUCH better room to secure things like a USB cable. And finally, I like the zipper on this better, and have a better feeling about that lasting longer.I haven't tested the water-proofing, but it certainly looks, feels, and seems plenty water resistant, re protecting a drive from spills.

I really don't understand previous reviews where they complain about it not fitting their device. You have a tape measure/ruler. I bought it for a laptop optical I pulled from an old laptop because my new one doesn't have one. I made a little wooden tray for it to give the tray clearance for opening. Yes, this is a bit bigger than needed, but a bit of bubble wrap for filler keeps the drive from sliding around and the cable pouch can hold more than what I need it for so I don't have to wrestle the cables in and out. I even use the case as a platform to put the drive on when I connect it.

This case is well made and quite sturdy, perfect for traveling.

This is a nice case. However I gave it 4 stars because it is a little big. There is about an inch around the dvd/Blu-ray drive. I have the Pioneer Slim External Blu Ray Writer BDR-XD05B. I would of liked it a little smaller so the drive doesn’t move around when in transit. Anyways other than that it’ll work.

I really like this case. Sturdy, functional, looks great.If needed I would buy again.

Like the fact that it holds two things since it is rather thick. Since it is for drives I think it has to be hand carried so I like that the carrier is sturdy but not heavy.
