It's been half a year since we bought this toy and I felt compelled to add a glowing review as we got so much value from it. This toy reminds me of the quality of toys that were made when I was young. It's gotten a good amount of play from my 5 and 3 year old over many months, and I know that it will still be around for my 1 year old to play with when he's old enough.As parents who appreciate wooden toys which our children can learn from while playing, it was a great find. Fits right into our toy room and the solid wood looks even better than the photos. All of the pieces fit together well, and even the little "screw" and clock hands are easy for our kiddos to place in and take out of the clock.It arrived quickly and had minimal plastic packaging, which our family really appreciates. The box it came in was nice and everything was secured. It came with a card that offers tips on how to play with it and teach different maths skills. All in all high quality and super happy about our purchase.

I am using this with middle school students with disabilities.I appreciate that it's plain wood rather than bright colors, for my application. I did put a sticker over the icon in the main clock plate, as it makes the manipulative seem toddlerish. Otherwise, my students seem to enjoy using this tool to figure out how analog clocks and time function.

My 5 year old son loves it and already learned about how to tell the time. He also learned about fractions and understood the concept. I purposely ask him what time it is and he gets the right answer each time. It is pretty impressive how a toy could make learning so easy fun! totally recommend it.It was also delivered so quickly without any problems and it is a nice wood material. Nicely designed.

It's made from smooth wooden pieces with numbers and words all in the same muted brown. This is a quiet-time puzzle. Don't expect to teach the entire concept of a clock in one sitting, but just handling the puzzle pieces provides the introduction kids need to begin to understand the abstract idea of time.The manufacturer, Tomaze Toys, suggests this puzzle is for kids age 4+ because there are small pieces.But it would be useful for any elementary school age, because it includes learning about fractions of an hour.The instructions give ideas of how to present a clock to a child. You can start with giving them just the round frame, the 60 minutes circle, the 12 hour numbers, and the hands with peg. Ask them to put it together, using a real clock in the room for guidance. Each of the 12 hour numbers has the numeral on one side and the printed word for the number on the other.Once the concept of 60 minutes in every hour is understood, the fractions of an hour can be introduced. There are 11 fraction pieces: 1 thirty minute piece, 2 fifteens, 4 tens, and 4 five-minute pieces. Kids can use the minutes blocks (30, 15, 10 and 5) to construct an hour so many different ways!I have the highest praise for this toy. I wish we were able to add a rare sixth star to our rating system, for those special toys that are innovative, fun to use, and nicely presented.

This item is actually getting use in a Montessori school, and is a great visual and hands-on teaching tool that fits perfectly into the teaching style.The wooden construction is great-looking and well-suited for students to take apart and put back together to gain and demonstrate understanding of how we tell time, as well as the fractions that are inherent in our structure of telling time.
