Good product overall. The suction works well and it looks very nice in the kitchen. Takes 2 attempts to create a good seal and need to hold down the lid for best suction... other than that it works really well.

Very disappointed. Will not vacuum the air out of bags. I've tried 3 different types of bags to see if maybe that was the issue. Nope. The vacuum cycle will not pull the air out no matter what I try. I gave this two stars because the sealer works well. Not much help though without the vacuum...

Works for home use

It was a gift to my parents- it was great value and easy to use after a few trial runs

The Avalon Bay Vacuum Sealer however is a different story. Cutter does not work very well and it takes a lot of messing around to try to get it to vacuum seal. Even then it only seals 2/3 of the time. Even then it did not remove all the air from the bag, this is ever using the channel vacuum seal bags. Return postage costs almost as much as the item. Buyer beware. The reviews posted on this item are not all even for this item. Don't be mislead. Those who posted the pictures it is clear they are talking about a different vacuum sealer, not this bad product.

First vacuum sealer I’ve owned and I couldn’t be happier. I love that I can now prep food in advance. After a hard day of work the last thing I want to do is go home and start prepping dinner, the food sealer allows me to cook on Sunday and have good, fresh tasting food all week. Also this unit doesn’t look clunky, I don’t mind leaving it out on the counter because of its sleek black design. I would recommend this unit to anyone looking for a vacuum sealer.

Looks nice, got it for a Christmas gift for our daughter.. She has not used it yet ( not Christmas yet )

Not as reliable as the other brand that I had previously.
